Founded in 1905 by Ben Schrader and a group of local tavern owners and grocers, the original Falls City was formed to fight a big beer takeover in Louisville. In 1906, Otto Doerr was hired as our first brew master and our beer soon began appearing in local taverns. Shortly thereafter, a bottling plant was added and Falls City became one of the most popular breweries in Louisville, KY. The Falls City Beer Taproom in the NuLu neighborhood recently underwent transformation as PARLOUR steps in for a collaborative restaurant venture. The partnership highlights the shared commitment to quality and community between Falls City Beer and PARLOUR. Falls City Beer has been a popular choice at PARLOUR restaurants, and this venture represents a natural progression of the successful relationship between the two establishments.

The wedding venues shown are based in or near Louisville and manage their own listing on Zola.

Among Zola couples marrying in Louisville, September and October are the most popular months. Louisville's fall season offers comfortable temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s, vibrant foliage, and lower humidity than summer months—ideal for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. Spring months like April and May also provide pleasant weather, with blooming gardens and moderate temperatures perfect for outdoor ceremonies at venues near Cherokee Park or along the Ohio River. Summer weddings in June through August are common but bring heat and humidity that may require indoor air-conditioned spaces for guest comfort. Winter weddings from December through February offer a different charm, particularly for couples drawn to historic mansion venues or bourbon distillery spaces with cozy indoor ambiance.
Louisville's 100-guest ZWCI range of around $24,800 to $37,300 is around the national median total of $25,000 and below the metro average of around $50,100, both from Zola's 2026 Wedding Spend Survey of 720 couples. This makes Louisville a relatively affordable option compared to major metropolitan areas. Nearby Lexington shows similar pricing at around $24,700 to $37,100 for 100 guests, making the broader Kentucky region competitive for wedding value. Louisville sits well below what couples in large metro areas typically spend, while still offering access to diverse venue styles from horse farm estates to bourbon distillery spaces. The city's venue starting prices—with a median of around $1,500 based on Zola marketplace data—provide options for couples across budget ranges.
For Louisville wedding venues, booking 12 to 18 months in advance is ideal, especially if you're planning a spring or fall wedding when demand peaks. Popular dates during Kentucky Derby season (late April through early May) and September through October book quickly, often requiring even earlier reservations. Summer weddings along the Ohio River and in outdoor spaces like those near Cherokee Park also fill up fast.
If you're planning a wedding with fewer than 12 months' notice, don't worry—based on Zola marketplace data, Louisville has venues at various price points, with starting prices ranging from around $500 to $5,100. Winter dates (January through March) and weekday celebrations typically offer more availability and flexibility. For the most sought-after venues during peak season, though, reaching out 15 to 18 months ahead gives you the best selection.
Louisville offers distinct neighborhoods, each with its own wedding venue character. NuLu (East Market District) brings urban-chic vibes with renovated warehouses and art galleries perfect for modern celebrations. The Highlands provides a bohemian atmosphere with tree-lined streets and eclectic spaces ideal for intimate gatherings. Butchertown's industrial-meets-historic aesthetic appeals to couples seeking exposed brick and contemporary style.
For more traditional settings, Crescent Hill offers classic architecture and garden venues, while the Waterfront Park area along the Ohio River provides stunning skyline views and outdoor ceremony options. Clifton's proximity to parks creates natural backdrops for photos. According to the Zola Wedding Cost Index, venue costs in Louisville for 100 guests typically range from around $4,600 to $6,800, with neighborhood location influencing both style and price point.
