Welcome to Bayshore Club - built on the historic site known as Dinner Key and part of Miami’s oldest neighborhood, Coconut Grove. Originally an island and later connected to the mainland in 1914, Dinner Key received its name for being a beautiful picnic stop while traveling by boat along the coastal waters of the city. In 1918 it became the site of the first continental naval air station in the United States until the end of WWI. Through the 1930’s and 40’s, Dinner Key served as a base for Pan American World Airway’s flying boats, the Sikorsky S41 and S42 (commonly known as Clipper planes). The planes were once housed in the newly restored hangers at Bayshore Club and the original Art Deco airport terminal is now the site Miami City Hall located to the southeast side of the restaurant.

Planning a Miami beach wedding requires attention to weather, permits, and coastal logistics. Book for November through April when humidity drops and temperatures hover in the comfortable 70s—summer months bring afternoon thunderstorms and intense heat. Secure permits early if using public beaches, or simplify the process by choosing private venues in Coconut Grove or along Biscayne Bay that handle permissions. Always have an indoor backup plan: Miami's tropical climate means sudden showers even in dry season. Consider sand logistics for your guests—provide basket of flip-flops or choose venues with hard surfaces near the water. Wind is constant along the Atlantic coastline, so work with your florist on weighted arrangements and skip lightweight programs. Schedule hair and makeup early to account for humidity, and plan your ceremony for late afternoon to avoid harsh midday sun and capture golden-hour photos against the water.
The ideal season for beach weddings varies by region, but late spring through early fall typically offers the warmest weather and calmer seas. That said, shoulder seasons like May and September often provide beautiful conditions with fewer crowds and sometimes better availability at popular venues.
Regardless of when you book, always have a weather contingency plan in place. Most beach venues offer backup indoor spaces or covered areas, though this amenity may influence pricing—beach venues on Zola's marketplace have a median starting price of around $5,000, about 25% higher than the overall venue median.
Your backup plan should include:
- Clear communication with your venue about their rain policy and indoor options
- A timeline for making the final indoor/outdoor decision (usually 24-48 hours before)
- Rental tents or marquees as an alternative to moving entirely indoors
- Contingency decorating supplies that work for either setting
Many couples find that booking during traditional shoulder months like April or October balances pleasant weather with better venue rates.
For Miami weddings, booking 12 to 18 months in advance is strongly recommended, especially if you're planning a celebration during peak season. South Florida's winter months—November through April—are the most popular time for weddings thanks to beautiful weather and lower humidity, which means venues fill up quickly. If you're eyeing a Saturday evening or a holiday weekend, some couples book even earlier to secure their first choice.
Summer and early fall offer more flexibility, with venues often available 8 to 12 months out, and you may find better availability for last-minute planning. Based on Zola marketplace data, Miami venues have a median starting price of around $4,300, with rates varying by season and day of the week. Popular waterfront locations along Biscayne Bay and beachfront spots in South Beach tend to book fastest during the winter season.
Miami offers diverse neighborhoods, each with distinct wedding venue appeal. Coral Gables is known for its Mediterranean-revival architecture and elegant estates, perfect for classic, upscale celebrations. Coconut Grove provides a more laid-back, bohemian atmosphere with lush tropical settings and waterfront views along Biscayne Bay.
Brickell appeals to couples seeking modern, urban sophistication with skyline views and contemporary event spaces. Wynwood brings artistic flair with its famous murals and industrial-chic warehouse venues, ideal for creative, non-traditional weddings. South Beach offers iconic beachfront locations and art deco glamour for couples wanting that quintessential Miami vibe.
According to the Zola Wedding Cost Index, venue costs for 100 guests in Miami typically range from around $4,300 to $6,500, though prices vary significantly by neighborhood and waterfront access.
