Bill and the team at Marigny Opera House were a breeze to work with! He was very thorough and responsive when we had any questions and his spirit in general was so kind. We wanted a venue with true New Orleans history and beauty, and the MOH provided that no matter if we were out front, inside, or in the courtyard. If you're looking for a venue outside of the Quarter, we HIGHLY recommend. Our guests were very impressed, and we can't wait to return to experience some of their performing arts shows. Thank you MOH!

The Mansion on Royal
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
New Orleans, LA
  • Up to 50 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Royal Street Marigny is a restored 1820s Greek Revival mansion in New Orleans' Faubourg Marigny — one block from the French Quarter and steps from Frenchmen Street. Book it and the entire property is yours: 9 private suites ranging from 1-3 bedrooms, elegant galleries, and 3 lush courtyards. Capacity: Up to 50 guests for your celebration; sleeps up to 27 people across 9 suites. Technically 11 suites with 2 combined. What we are: First and foremost, your place to stay and celebrate. The whole mansion is exclusively yours — your wedding party and loved ones get ready, stay, and celebrate together under one historic roof. The rest: We're primarily your lodging and venue space — we don't run catering or florals in-house — but we're flexible and happy to help connect you with trusted local vendors and coordinators for flowers, drinks, catering, and day-of planning. Outside coordinators are always welcome. Ideal for intimate weddings, elopements, vow renewals, and celebration weekends.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Combines timeless elegance with history
  • Provides setup and cleanup
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Does not allow pets
  • Dance floor not included
We booked The Mansion on Royal for a girls' trip and it exceeded every expectation. The photos don't do it justice — the ceilings, the details, the courtyards where we had coffee every morning. Having the whole place to ourselves made it feel like our own private New Orleans estate. We were walking distance to everything but came back each night to peace and quiet. The check-in was seamless and the space was spotless. Already planning our next trip back.

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
They were helpful but some things were stressful for us. We paid for the house for the weekend and even paid for the extra room for the rehearsal dinner, and after the rehearsal dinner they wouldn’t let us set up for the reception. The day after the wedding they wouldn’t let us clean out the reception hall until 8am but checkout was at 11, so we were up at 6 just waiting around until we could go in at 8 to clean up. Shelby was extremely helpful and even gave us the nicer rehearsal room due to the heavy rain, but they did shoo us out right at the minute that it ended. I guess you get what you pay for when you have a wedding at a venue though. She answers all our questions and it was a beautiful venue and a beautiful house, but I do wish they had a little more leniency. Felt a little strict. But it was a beautiful venue. Wish we could’ve used the pool but the mosquitoes were too bad at night.

I am so excited to write this review for the Royal Frenchmen Hotel and Bar Team. We live in Maryland, and while I have family who is local to NOLA, we were taking a chance on a venue we had never visited. But, even working with Chloe before our contract was signed, I felt confident that all of my questions were getting answered, and that even the questions I hadn’t thought to ask, would still be taken care of. And I was right. We worked with their team from June 2023 to our wedding weekend August 2024 and Chloe and I slowly worked through every possible detail before we arrived. We got to visit the venue in January and they were such gracious hosts to us and my family. We even got to meet more of the team, all just as warm and kind. During our visit they treated us to a bar tasting to curate our menu with their award winning bar tenders, as well as had our caterers come in to customize our menu. And the food, was of course New Orleans level taste and quality. DELICIOUS. We were huge fans of all the vendors they suggested, from the band, to the bakeries for our cake, to the amazing photographer and videographer skills you see in the photos attached. They prioritized our needs, and always listened to what we requested, while also providing expert guidance when we weren’t sure what was the best plan. Even in the middle of the thunderstorms that arrived the week leading up to our day, they ensured our plan was in tact with a tent that was so beautifully decorated I couldn’t believe it wasn’t part of the original layout. As our guests arrived to stay for the weekend, and filed in on Saturday for the wedding, we continued to receive such beautiful feedback on how attentive they were to guests before, during, and after the wedding. We plan to continue to be visitors of this awesome hotel and bar to reminisce our magical day, but I want to make sure other couples get the chance to experience the care, warmth, and amazing service provided by the Royal Frenchmen team for their special day.

Choosing Margaret Place was the single best decision we made for our wedding. We'd considered a few French Quarter restaurants, but my husband fell for this space because of how invested the team was in making the day ours. We had so much fun at our wedding, and I can’t thank the MP team enough for making the day so perfect. Now, a few of our favorite things: - The planning team. We booked with Margaret Place because it was immediately clear that Kathleen, the venue manager, knew exactly what she was doing. We trusted her from day one to execute, and we couldn't be more glad we did. We saved hours of research by trusting her (excellent) vendor recommendations, including furniture rentals, florals, and buses. Two weeks before the wedding, we actually parted ways with our outside wedding planner, and Kathleen saved the day by bringing in Jade, Margaret Place's in-house day-of coordinator. Jade was a breath of fresh air after months with a subpar planner. She kept us exactly where we needed to be all day, from getting ready first thing in the morning to putting us all on after-party buses at the end of the night. Thanks to Jade and Kathleen, we actually enjoy our wedding, and are deeply grateful for that. - The venue. Beautiful, spacious, and private, with a central courtyard and enough distinct areas that no one felt cramped. On the first tour we worried about highway noise given the location, but you couldn't hear it at all once the music started. The space was so gorgeous and unique that we barely needed to decorate (huge cost-saver). We used the courtyard for the ceremony and reception, left the pool uncovered for ambiance, set up a lounge in the secret garden, and gave guests an indoor parlor to relax in. As the bride, walking the balcony above the crowd on my way to the altar was pure drama in the best way. - The suites. Included in the rental, and a bigger boon than we expected. Arriving in the morning to champagne and a full staging area for me and my bridesmaids took so much stress off the day. The grooms also enjoyed hanging out in their separate suite later in the afternoon. - The atmosphere. When we first toured, we told Kathleen our top goal was to throw a great party, and lord did she understand the assignment. The result had genuine New Orleans charm but also morphed into a dance party, complete with DJ lighting, sound, and a fog machine. Our friends had as much fun as we did (they started asking when we were renewing our vows a month after the wedding). - The event team was exceptional. They used their experience to elevate my suggestions: mini lanterns became stunning table settings, while simple photo boxes were arranged in ways I never would have thought of. They took initiative with the polaroid cameras and every other detail without needing to be directed, which freed me up to actually enjoy the day.

The Historic Swoop-Duggins was the perfect place for my husband and I to hold our wedding celebration! The house is beautiful all on its own and has a lot of interesting history, which was a major draw for us as we wanted to have a very New Orleans-style wedding. The proprietor/GM, Linda Novak, guided us through all the options and offered recommendations and helpful tips for vendors and second line bands. Chef Lisa took wonderful care in helping us create a delicious menu of Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya, blackened Swordfish, fingerling potatoes, house-made focaccia, chilled and grilled shrimp, and a seasonal vegetable salad. She was so attentive to ours and our guests' various dietary restrictions (we received compliments all night and all weekend long, even from locals!). The bar director, Taylor, curated fun and delicious cocktails and mocktails to bring the Nola spirit. Try the Baroness Spritz! Our special events coordinator Meghann and onsite venue coordinator Rashaad, helped us figure out every detail so that we could have a well thought-out and smooth evening curated to our vision. The night ran beautifully! Every person we spoke with had a favorite staff member who made them feel welcomed, at home, and taken care of. They were all wonderful! Special shoutout to Thyme for taking wonderful care of my husband and I all night long- making sure we got to eat the delicious food, had plenty of water and drinks to keep us going, and an overall warm-hearted delight (she was such a gem giving me beautiful words before I walked down the aisle)! My husband, myself, our family, and all of our friends who traveled from near and far, had a beautiful and unforgettable time!

House of Broel

New Orleans, LA
  • Up to 100 guests

House of Broel was built as a story and a half family dwelling in 1850 in the Garden District of New Orleans. In 1884 the family decided they needed room for weddings and parties so they had the house lifted, making it a two and a half story mansion that we use today for events as they did back centuries ago. The Victorian style makes for the perfect romantic setting for your wedding, as well as the enjoyment of being on historic Saint Charles Avenue with its access to many five star hotels and the Street Car line.

Why you'll love this venue

  • All-inclusive venue packages
  • Historic touches
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
I was so happy to have been able to have given my niece the best day of her life. I had the honor of walking her down the aisle, since her father passed away. Thanks to House of Broel the evening was everything she dreamed of. The outside garden setting was so romantic. The highlight of the evening was my uncle age 94 on the dance floor for his last dance in life. My niece said it was so much fun having her family and friends all dancing in the iconic ballroom. Great DJ! The whole staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. I highly recommend this venue. It was a true New Orleans experience

I could not pull off a wonderful review like this without a great venue partner. For brides looking for an all inclusive destination wedding location, the Canal Street is awesome and perfect. One of our happy clients: I am beyond grateful to have had Kristen as our wedding planner for our destination wedding at the Canal Street Inn. Planning a wedding from out of town can be overwhelming, but she made the entire process not just manageable, but truly enjoyable! From the very beginning, Kristen took the time to understand our vision and preferences. She provided invaluable insights into the local culture and customs, ensuring that our wedding was a beautiful blend of our personal touch and the charm of the destination. What impressed me the most was her incredible organization and communication skills. Despite the distance Kristen kept us informed every step of the way, coordinating everything from vendor bookings to logistics. She always made time to answer all our questions, making us feel connected and supported throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, Kristen and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went perfectly. They managed all the details seamlessly, allowing us to focus on celebrating with our family and friends. It was truly a dream come true, and I was able to enjoy every moment without any stress. Thank you, Kristen and PK Events for your dedication, creativity, and hard work. You turned our destination wedding into a magical experience that we and our guests will cherish forever. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding, especially if you’re looking for someone who can expertly handle the complexities of a destination event!- Love, September Bride

We had our welcome party here on a Friday evening with 175 people and it was perfect! We had the space for 3 hours and the rental price was very reasonable. We had an open bar with a set price per drink which was also very fair. Catering was done from a menu with pricing per sheet pan and you could just order as much as you'd like. Andrew, the manager, was SO lovely and easy to work with. On the day of he offered to blow up the bouncy house they had for the kids. There were also lawn games. The space is huge and beautiful, the food and drinks are amazing, and the vibe is awesome! Highly recommend.
