We were lucky to work with Geraldine for two events--our microwedding then a wedding reception 6 months later. We knew that Geraldine was the perfect coordinator/planner the first call we had with her. She is a perfect mix of personable and organized. When catering forgot our menus at our wedding, she created and printed new ones hours before dinner. For our reception, she helped me with my dress, carried my things while we took pictures, and kept everything running efficiently while we were busy partying and too tipsy to care about a timeline. She's honest, an incredible designer, and will make your events run smoothly. We will miss chatting with her regularly

Natasha Lamalle Photography
Rating: 5.0 (27 reviews)

Washington, DC
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style

The best way to tell honest stories is through keen observation. How do I know? Because I spent 15 years as a journalist before becoming a wedding photographer. By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

Awarded Best of Zola
Natasha was the first vendor we hired after choosing our venue. She is astonishing. She seamlessly blends into the crowd to take photos that capture the essence of your wedding and always manages to find the perfect picture that will make you cry, laugh, and then cry again. She has a remarkable eye. If you want to get away from stilted formal shots and remember and celebrate the actual day of your wedding, work with Natasha. She makes the entire wedding process a joy, from the initial meeting with her to the date night she set up for you to view your photos. She also does "slice of life" engagement shoots which can be a fun and casual date night that she captures with her incredible camera. Everyone has been blown away by the quality of the pictures. There is a reason that she is a top world wedding photographer. I trust Natasha completely. If you are not interested in classic boring posed photos, you can do no better than to hire Natasha Lamalle immediately. She is a true artist with a camera. You will fall in love over and over again through her photos.

Cesario Mendez Photography

Washington, DC

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Awarded Best of Zola
It was great to work with Cesar. From the moment we had our introductory call with him, we were drawn in by his authenticity, humor and laid back energy. We knew he was a good fit for a day that we wanted to keep positive, low-stress, and focused. When it came time for him to give instructions for couple and family shoots, he was confident and cool. In fact, many of our guests went out of their way to share how impressed they were with Cesar. He did a great job capturing our daytime wedding despite the quick change from cloudy and rainy to a bright springtime sun. He struck the perfect balance of positioning himself well to get great shots without being conspicuous or obtrusive. I plan to hire Cesar for other events in the future and recommend that my friends do the same.

We couldn’t have asked for a better videographer for our wedding! From start to finish, Andi was professional, dedicated, and incredibly thoughtful, ensuring that our special day was captured beautifully. Right after we signed the contract, she sent us a detailed questionnaire to get to know us as a couple—our story, our style, and the specific moments we wanted to highlight. This level of preparation reassured us that she truly cared about making the video personal and meaningful. About a month before the wedding, she proactively reached out to request the venue’s floor plan, demonstrating her commitment to planning ahead and making sure every shot was perfectly thought out. On the wedding day, Andi arrived an hour early to get familiar with the space and even took some breathtaking outdoor shots before the festivities began. Her presence was so natural and unobtrusive, allowing us to fully enjoy the day while she captured everything seamlessly. Throughout the event, she worked tirelessly to document not just the big moments but also the little details and emotions that made our wedding unique. One of the things that makes Andi truly stand out is her background as a former reporter and documentary filmmaker. Her storytelling skills are evident in every frame—she has a keen eye for capturing genuine emotions and weaving them together into a narrative that feels raw, real, and deeply personal. She didn’t just record our wedding; she told our story in the most beautiful and authentic way. When we received our wedding video, we were absolutely blown away. It was beyond anything we could have imagined—every moment was beautifully filmed and edited, creating a cinematic and heartfelt masterpiece that we will cherish forever. What truly stood out was Andi’s creative touch—she included interesting and unexpected moments that showcased her artistic eye and deep understanding of human connection. Most importantly, the video felt authentically us—it captured the emotions, the joy, and the essence of our relationship perfectly. We are beyond grateful for Andi’s work, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and passionate wedding videographer. We highly recommend DJ D-Mac as a wedding DJ. As a music lover, I labored over the playlist for our wedding and I wanted our reception to feel like a legitimate dancefloor with a legitimate DJ. What I can say about Daryl is that he made all the right calls throughout the night. He was constantly able to read the room, draw people in, and keep the energy levels high. His flow was infectious and kept the people dancing. Beyond that, he worked seamlessly with our other vendors and the venue to coordinate A/V logistics and was very collaborative with us throughout the process leading up to the big day. It was a blast.

We booked Teyanna in 2022 for our August 2024 wedding and did not regret it one bit. It was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Teyanna was beyond accommodating and informative throughout the entire process. Her precise, creative, and professional "client-first" mentality shone through. From countless Zoom calls to meeting up in person to select flowers, it was more than we could have asked for and were expecting. Her professionalism and creativity showed through when we had to improvise our outdoor ceremony to an indoor one thanks to a horrific tropical storm. She called us on the morning of our wedding to ensure we were doing okay and went over every detail with both my husband and me to make sure she and her team didn't miss anything. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, our meeting house was constructed in 1930 during the administration of the Quaker president, Herbert Hoover. It was built to serve as a house of worship and a gathering place for those wanting to “seek peace and pursue it.” The building was enlarged in 1950. In 1970, we acquired the red brick Quaker House, Carriage House and garden at 2121 Decatur Place NW. Built in the 1920s and also on the National Register, these buildings today house a number of nonprofit organizations and small businesses as well as additional event spaces. With multiple interior spaces and gardens, we can accommodate events of various sizes and layouts, from 2 to 300. We host individuals, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities. • Designed for grand celebrations

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
Our recent wedding at the Friends Meeting of Washington (near Dupont Circle) was the best possible choice of venue we could make. The staff was helpful, professional, caring, and did all they could to make our day run smoothly. It was lovely to hold the ceremony, reception, and the dancing in one venue. Their beautiful, light-fillled Meeting House space on the second floor well accommodated our very large group of family and friends, and their newly renovated courtyard made it possible to hold the reception and dinner outdoors. We danced indoors on the first floor. It was memorable to me, my beloved, and my family members that I could be married in the same room where my family attended Quaker meeting in the 1960's, where my father's memorial service was held in the mid 'seventies, and where I attended services regularly when I was a young working woman in the 1980's. Many thanks to Brian Luttenegger, Genevi Schindehutte , and the FMW community for all you did to make our wedding day so memorable.

I'm Sandra Orrego, the eye behind L11. I'm based in Madrid, Spain, and work internationally for couples who want their wedding photographed with an editorial eye, a modern sense of style, and real emotional presence. My work blends fashion-inspired direction with candid, honest moments: the in-between gestures, the joy, the chaos and everything that makes your day feel unmistakably yours. Whether it’s an intimate courthouse wedding or a full weekend celebration, my goal is to create images that feel stylish, alive and timeless — photographs with intention, but never stiffness. I’m always happy to travel wherever your story takes me.

Going into wedding planning, I knew choosing our photographer would be one of the most important decisions we’d make, and it truly was. Your photographer is arguably the person you spend the most time with on your wedding day, so finding the right fit matters so much. When our wedding planner introduced us to Lucky Elevens, her work immediately stood out. The photos felt effortless, emotional, authentic and completely Pinterest-worthy. But what truly sealed the deal was Sandra herself. From our very first video call, it felt like we had known each other forever. Her warmth, combined with her incredible talent, made the decision so easy. If you’re looking for a photographer who is passionate, kind, talented, and genuinely cares, Sandra is your person. Throughout the planning process, she was incredibly helpful sharing inspiration, offering guidance, and always having a clear creative vision. On the wedding day, she was everything I could have hoped for and more. As a bride, emotions run high, and your photos mean everything. Sandra made me feel beautiful, confident, and completely at ease. She wasn’t just our photographer, she felt like a friend and the ultimate hype woman. We had so much fun together, and that joy truly comes through in every photo. I still don’t understand how she managed to capture every single moment and detail so perfectly - especially as our sole photographer. She didn’t miss a thing. I truly can’t express how grateful I am for these photos. They turned out even better than my Pinterest dreams, and they allow us to relive our day over and over again. Thank you endlessly to Sandra for capturing our wedding day so beautifully, it’s something we’ll hold onto for the rest of our lives.

Hi beautiful! My name is Elena Fielding, a licensed bridal stylist based in Washington, DC. With over 10 years of experience, I specialize in creating elegant, European-inspired bridal hair and makeup that enhances your natural beauty. I’ve had the pleasure of working with magazines and celebrities, and in 2023 I was honored as a Wedding Awards winner for “Best Bridal Stylist.”

I honestly don’t even have enough words to describe how happy I am! You are incredibly talented-I felt like I was in the best hands from start to finish. I absolutely loved my hairstyle: it was comfortable, secure, and held all day perfectly, even with strong wind. My makeup also stayed flawless from morning to evening without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. Elena was by my side throughout the entire day, which made such a difference. I truly felt like I was in safe, reliable hands the whole time. She stayed close during the photoshoot, gently fixing my hair and makeup, adjusting every detail, and making sure everything looked absolutely perfect in every moment. If you’re a bride looking for someone reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and genuinely caring, you will be in amazing hands.

Sharon was amazing! Everything about our experience with her exceeded our expectations. She predicted our needs before the wedding and advised the best ways to prepare for our special day. On our wedding day, her patience and friendliness put everyone at ease. She was fun and professional when working with the bride and bridesmaids. Her years of experience as a photojournalist really showed, and she captured some incredible moments. The online gallery of pictures was wonderful and delivered quickly. The pictures came out vibrant and beautiful and we will cherish them for years to come. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect photographer for our wedding!

24k Event Band

24k Event Band is THE DMV's ultimate entertainment experience. Quick to respond, flexible, personable, with outstanding vocals, musicians and leadership, your party will be the one to beat. 24k is a premium experience from the first call to the very end. It is our goal to make certain we meet your expectations and will work with you to create your vision in every way. We couldn't be more proud to share this band with the DMV, and I know you will be as thrilled as I am, from the first organizing steps to the last note! Recent news: 24k is proud to have been chosen as the entertainment for the Washington Performing Arts Gala in 2026!

I first encountered 24k at a wedding that I attended in 2022. When it came time for my wedding, I remembered how they were so lively and energetic, and I inquired if they could come out a little further, even though my (June 2026) wedding was in West Virginia. The band was both flexible and easy-going about that and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT on the dance floor! Jill was the main point of contact and she asked all the right questions, including very kindly making doubly sure that everyone’s names were pronounced correctly during reception introductions (there were Chinese, European, and African names in the mix!). We made specific requests for the Bridal Party intro and First Dance songs that the band agreeably accommodated. For example, I entered into the reception with the Wyclef Jean song “911” and the band DJ’ed the song at the right parts so that my friend and vocalist could sing it live as my husband I entered the reception area (I’m 5’1” and the song references an “assailant” who is 5’1”, so it was important to get the timing right for comedic effect!) They were open to that collaboration that made the event more fun. We also asked that the lyrics of the Avett Brothers song “January Wedding” be changed to “June Wedding” when the band performed the First Dance. In terms of their actual performance, 24k BROUGHT IT (!!!). Besides sounding fantastic, the band members have great chemistry with each other and appear to actually just enjoy the music themselves. We had a diverse guest list (188 guests), and family members old and very young, co-workers, church and other friends, and friends from our martial arts dojo community, were all on the dance floor. Folks were having a GREAT time. The band maintained energy on the floor until the very end. Even the venue staff at our open bar were dancing along all night; and our wedding coordinator staff shared with me how “amazing” they thought 24K was when I walked past them! I should also mention that the individual band members I interacted with during the night were very kind and engaging. One mentioned to me that he had read the answers to our couple Bingo Trivia game that was posted and that he felt like he knew us already from reading it! You could see this open spirit in the performance of the band. After our Grand Exit, my husband and I walked about a 100 yards to our lodgings on the venue site (The Bavarian Inn); however, we stopped on our balcony to hear the band lead the guests in singing the song “Country Roads” to close out the night. We watched the twinkly lights sparkling in the distance as we heard the joy of both the band and the guests. It was truly remarkable! After the wedding, MANY guests commented on how much they enjoyed 24k’s live performance. There is a world of difference between a DJ and a quality live band, and having 24k –a *very high* quality band – made our wedding celebration so much more special, joyous, and FUN!
