I’m genuinely sorry that your wedding day was affected by my delayed arrival, and I completely understand how stressful that must have felt on such an important day. I would, however, like to provide some context for anyone reading this review. I was traveling approximately an hour to the venue and did not charge an additional travel fee. I intentionally left approximately an hour and a half before the scheduled ceremony time to allow myself more than enough time to arrive early. Unfortunately, I encountered two significant traffic delays, including an accident, and the travel time continued to increase while I was en route. I communicated these delays to the wedding coordinator as my GPS updated the estimated arrival time. I did not intentionally leave late or underestimate the time needed to get to the venue. When I arrived, I immediately apologized for the delay and did my best to fulfill my responsibilities professionally and respectfully for the remainder of the ceremony. Regarding the pronunciation of names, prior to the wedding I completed my usual preparation process, which includes asking couples specifically how they would like to be addressed during their ceremony. I used the names and pronunciations provided to me. If I nevertheless pronounced a name incorrectly, I sincerely apologize, as that was never my intention. I take every couple’s wedding day seriously, and I regret that this experience did not meet the expectations you had for your ceremony. At the same time, I hope it is understood that the circumstances surrounding my arrival were caused by unexpected traffic conditions and an accident—not a lack of preparation or consideration for your wedding. I appreciate the feedback and will continue looking for ways to build even more contingency time into my travel plans, because I understand that when you are entrusted with such an important moment, being there on time is incredibly important.
