I'm Buffy Nelson, and marrying people has been the honor of my life for over a decade. As an ordained minister and fierce LGBTQ+ ally, I've stood beside thousands of couples on their big day — and no two have ever been the same. Steampunk vibes on a rooftop? Halloween spookiness in a cemetery? A surprise elopement? A heartfelt vow renewal? I'm here for all of it, with packages to fit every budget. We begin monitoring the weather for your ceremony the week of the ceremony. In the event of inclement weather, you have the option of moving your ceremony to one of only two squares that have a gazebo for cover. You may also move your ceremony to the bandshell in Forsyth Park for coverage. If you are staying at a B&B, or a hotel, or even a vacay rental, we may be able pivot to have your ceremony where you are staying. Our final option is clear umbrellas! We provide clear umbrellas for the bride, groom and officiant, and proceed! Believe me when I say you should never underestimate the beauty of rain in your pics!
In the 12 years since we married our first couple, we have married more than 3,000 couples - and that number grows almost daily!
Absolutely! You may bring either, or both! We love nothing more than fur-babies and non-fur-babies at ceremonies! We can even include them in the ceremony. Whether you are becoming a new, blended family, or you don’t go anywhere without your canine companion, we will incorporate you kids or pets any way we can that you will love. We also offer a canine companion service to sit with your pet during your ceremony if you would like your four-legged friend in your pics, but not necessarily in the ceremony. We get that request more than you know!
Absolutely! Let us know which packages you are considering when you send in your inquiry, and we can definitely give you guidance. I would ask myself these questions, also, and give us your answers, which can help us provide suggestions. How important is the ceremony content to me? Do I have personal touches that I want to contribute? How personal of a touch do I want from my officiant? Is it important that I meet with her - and when and how often - in the process? If I am planning a destination wedding in Savannah, how much time do I personally have to spend on planning the ceremony? We can help answer any question!
We do! We charge an additional travel fee for ceremonies that take place on Tybee Island, Hilton Head Island, St. Simon’s Island, and Jekyll Island, or in Richmond Hill, and Hinesville, Statesboro. Other locations in Chatham County do not require a travel fee. We will also travel out-of-state and to other locations in Georgia. Contact us to talk about what you want and we can discuss a customized travel estimate.
