I am non denominational, and I am LGBT friendly. I am delighted to perform services for any happy couple for a wedding, elopement, vow renewal or commitment ceremony. I am available all year, and all seven days of the week, in the Nags Head, Wanchese, Manteo and Coquina Beach areas of the Outer Banks. Pack your flipflops, head to the OBX, and let’s get your Wedding Knots Tied!

Every ceremony I perform is personalized for the couple. Maybe you want something romantic and traditional, relaxed and lighthearted, spiritual, completely nonreligious, or a combination of styles. You can write your own vows, choose traditional vows, use options I provide, or simply say “I do.” There is no right or wrong way to do it...only what feels comfortable and meaningful to you.

    A Tail of Two Weddings

    We hired Wedding Knots Tied for both my son's and my daughter's weddings, and Ms. McBride was fantastic each time. She responded quickly to all our questions and made sure everything we wanted was included in the ceremonies. Ms. McBride created something special for each, understanding what made their relationship unique and weaving that into the service.     The best!

    We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding ceremony. Melody made the entire experience feel so personal, meaningful, and completely natural. From the words she chose to the way she delivered the ceremony, everything fit us perfectly. We wanted something simple and intimate in the Outer Banks, and she made it exactly what we hoped it would be. The ceremony was beautiful without feeling overly formal or rehearsed, and the references to the ocean and marriage made it especially meaningful given where we chose to get married. Melody was warm, genuine, professional, and made us both feel completely comfortable from beginning to end. Looking back, we honestly wouldn’t change a single thing about our ceremony. I have been performing wedding ceremonies since 2012.
Yes, I can still perform your ceremony. In fact, I have done that for many couples.
Absolutely you can personalize your ceremony. We can tweak the wording and add any special pieces you'd like, including a sand ceremony, hand fasting, etc.
I do offer rehearsals. They are an additional fee of $150, and are scheduled for the day before your ceremony.
I no longer remember the number of couples that I have married. In a normal wedding season here on the Outer Banks, I do between 60 - 90 ceremonies a year.
I do offer premarital counseling, but I do not require it to perform a ceremony.
