I can't fabricate moments, so I don't try to. I pose you with real direction so you feel confident and know exactly what to do, then I step back and let the actual moment happen. That's loose editorial: bold, stylish portraits sitting right next to genuine in-between feelings, in the same gallery. I'm Heather, based in Arizona and Southern California, but I go wherever the wedding is. I want your photos to look incredible and still look like you, not a version of you that's been posed and polished into someone else.

I'm part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, so this is a safe space for every couple, every identity, every kind of love, because of that, not despite it. Comfort isn't a nice-to-have here, it's the craft. I actively want the destination weddings, not just tolerate them for a travel fee, if your day is somewhere far and a little complicated to get to, that's usually the one I'm most excited about.     Working with Heather was truly such a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, her communication was exceptional-timely, professional, and thoughtful every step of the way.     Look no further - hire Heather

    From the very first conversation, Heather of Allen Photography was a true joy to work with. Her communication style was upbeat, clear, and enthusiastic, putting us at ease throughout the entire process. Her work is editorial and timeless. Heather has such a wonderful vision and guided us through posing and shots - we aren't typically very comfortable in front of a camera, but she (metaphorically) really held our hand through it. Everyone in the wedding party and other vendors told us what a gem Heather is. She was a pleasure to work with from start to finish, making the whole process so easy. After our initial meeting, she checked in periodically until we got closer to the date, then she gave us a comprehensive questionnaire to make sure we got all the shots we wanted and met with us again to review it. During the wedding day, she brought so much energy to hype everyone up, and the results speak for themselves. We are thrilled with our beautiful wedding photos that we will cherish forever.

    Amazing

    A special day made better

    My wife and I had a destination wedding. We were lucky enough to come across Heather, and we are more than thankful that we did. She took a special day and made it even more special. She went above and beyond and captured everything we could have hoped for and then some. It felt like we had known her for many years thank you for being a great person.

I've been photographing weddings for over five years, and honestly every single one still gets me. Before this I spent over a decade in the beauty industry, which sounds unrelated until you realize that work was always about making people feel confident, seen, and like the best version of themselves. That never changed. I just traded the chair for a camera. Wedding photography is where storytelling, style, and genuine human connection all live in the same place, and I can't imagine doing anything else.
If I've photographed there before, I'll already know the best light, the hidden spots, and how the day tends to flow through the space. If it's somewhere new, honestly, that's one of my favorite situations. I always research ahead of time, arrive early to walk the space, and approach every location like there's something great waiting to be found there. Whether you're getting married at a venue I know well or somewhere I've never set foot, the experience feels the same. You'll never feel like I'm figuring it out on the fly.
I offer three collections: Just Us runs seven hours, built for elopements and smaller, intimate celebrations. Cover to Cover runs nine hours and covers the full day, start to finish. On Film runs ten hours and weaves four rolls of 35mm through the day. All three include timeline support, a full gallery with unlimited downloads, print release, and travel already built into the price, I don't add it as a separate line item. Because travel plays into cost, pricing is custom to where your wedding is happening. Message me and I'll put a real number together for your date and location.
Yes, always. Travel is built into every collection, so there are no surprise fees. I've photographed weddings across the US and internationally, and I genuinely love working somewhere new. Whether you're getting married in the desert, the mountains, Scotland, or somewhere completely unexpected, I'm in. Just tell me where.
Most couples book me 12 to 18 months out, especially for destination weddings and popular dates. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway. I keep my calendar intentionally limited so I can show up fully for each couple, which means dates do fill up. As soon as you feel like this is the right fit, I wouldn't wait.
You'll get a sneak peek within 48 hours of your wedding. Your full edited gallery arrives within six weeks. Every image is edited by me personally, nothing is outsourced. If you need it sooner, rush delivery gets your complete gallery to you within ten business days.
In the unlikely event something happens, I have a trusted network of photographers I know personally and professionally. I'd never leave a couple without coverage. I'd reach out immediately, brief them on your day and vision, and make sure someone who can deliver the same level of care shows up for you. This has never happened, but you deserve to know there's a plan.
A second photographer comes standard with On Film. If you're booking Just Us or Cover to Cover and want one there too, it's available as an add-on. I only bring people I trust completely. I lead everything on the day, directing portraits and managing the timeline, and my second photographer handles additional angles and guest moments so nothing gets missed while I'm with you.
Low light and unexpected weather don't stress me out. I use professional gear built for dark spaces and know how to use flash in a way that still feels true to your day. Rain, wind, and dramatic skies can add real emotion to your photos. I'll guide you through it so you feel calm and look amazing no matter what the day throws at you.
Yes, every photo is fully edited by me. I don't batch process or outsource. Clean, natural edits that highlight your connection without heavy filters or over-airbrushing. Skin tones stay true to life, lighting is enhanced, and everything feels consistent. What you see in my portfolio is exactly what you'll get in your gallery.
I focus solely on photography so I can give my full attention to your experience and gallery. I don't offer video, but I've worked alongside some great videographers and I'm happy to make recommendations. Photo and video should feel like they belong together, and I'll help you find someone whose style complements mine.
