About Anchor and Pine Collective

Anchor and Pine Collective

Owner/Photographer/Chief Adventure Officer

My inspiration comes from my time spent in stunning landscapes, from the sea to the mountains. I love capturing photos with natural light and specialize in elopements and microweddings with 30 guests or fewer. I have a decade of photography experience with a communications and film degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I enjoy working with couples that love the great outdoors. I am currently based in Southern California, around the San Diego area, but I am available to travel across the country for weddings.

Anchor and Pine gives 5% back to public lands and non-profits that support the environment. My work captures from a photojournalistic style to help preserve your most special memories without feeling overly staged. I help all my couples plan a photography timeline for their big day. Client service and satisfaction are very important to me. I only take on one elopement or wedding per week to ensure you’re well taken care of.

    We love Helen!

Anchor and Pine Collective were fantastic wedding photographers for our special day. Helen was quick to respond to emails, flexible about rescheduling if needed, and had a laid back yet cheerful personality that put us at ease. She has a great knowledge of the best locations for photos and her work was high quality, perfectly capturing all the unique moments of our wedding. Helen offered a sense of calm and reassurance during the hectic moments of the day, which we really appreciated. We are thrilled with the photos and would highly recommend Anchor and Pine Collective to any couple looking for a talented and personable photography team.

    Helen is exceptional

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Helen, a truly exceptional photographer who has beautifully captured every milestone in our lives — from our wedding day to maternity, newborn, and family sessions. From the very beginning, Helen impressed us with her warm personality, professionalism, and an eye for detail that goes far beyond just taking pictures. She doesn’t just shoot photos — she captures moments, emotions, and memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Our wedding photos were beyond stunning — elegant, emotional, and full of joy. She was discreet yet always present, catching the little in-between moments that made the day uniquely ours. We received so many compliments on how natural and heartfelt the photos felt, and it’s all thanks to Helen’s talent and intuition. During our maternity shoot, Helen made us feel comfortable, confident, and completely at ease, even in our most vulnerable moments. She found the perfect balance between artistry and authenticity — highlighting the beauty of the experience in such an effortless way. The newborn session was where Helen’s patience and gentle nature really shone. She was incredible with our baby — soothing, calming, and respectful of the pace we needed. The results were absolutely magical, filled with tenderness and love. Most recently, our family session felt like a relaxed afternoon with an old friend — and somehow, amidst the chaos of kids being kids, Helen delivered images full of life, laughter, and connection. Every photo tells a story. What we value most about Helen is her ability to see people — to truly understand what matters to each family or couple, and to bring that to life through her lens. Her style is timeless, her editing is impeccable, and her passion for what she does comes through in every frame. We can’t recommend Helen highly enough. She’s not just our photographer — she’s now part of our family’s story, and we’re so grateful for everything she’s given us.

    Storybook June 2020 Wedding!

As the Mother of the Bride, i cannot say enough about Helen, our wedding photographer. When my daughter and her husband researched photographers, they were drawn to Helen's photos and her editing skills. And the fact that she was competitively but reasonably priced was a plus. During the planning process she was very accessible, and answered emails with complete and clear information. She is a warm and friendly person, but at the same time very professional. She had several virtual meetings with the bride and groom, and took care of every detail so that by the big day, we knew what to expect. During the wedding and reception, Helen was there to get the best shots without ever being in anyone's way. She emailed some beautiful shots after a few days, and then it only took three weeks to get the entire portfolio sent back to us! The newlyweds are absolutely in love with their photos. These pictures captured feelings and emotions, as well as wonderful visions of a perfect day. The wedding was at TImberline/Mt. Hood, and since Helen is a master of nature photography, the end result was perfect. I cannot recommend Anchor and Pine Collective enough!

Helen photographed our wedding in Mission Beach last month and not only was she incredibly kind, sweet, patient and easy to work with, but the photos were absolutely beautiful. She took time to capture the wedding scene before we arrived, taking photos of all the small details we picked out in advance, but that we didn't get time to appreciate when we arrived for the wedding. The shots during our wedding were also stunning and she photographed us with our family and friends after the ceremony, along with private shots of my husband and I alone on the beach. She was very professional and moved us to the perfect locations on the beach, with our faces out of the sun. She also had a very quick turnaround on the photos, which we greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Helen and Anchor & Pine Collective. She was one of a kind and is very talented.
