Q: How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Typically, couples book me about 6-18 months out from their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as you're ready to book, even if you're planning on short notice. I'm happy to accomodate where I can!

Q: How long will it take to see our pictures?

I deliver a generous preview gallery within 1 week. Your full, finished gallery will be delivered in about 8-10 weeks depending on where we are in the wedding season.

Q: What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

In 11 years of photographing weddings, I’ve never missed a single one. Should something unexpected happen, it is in our contract that I will personally find you a qualified replacement (one of my amazing photographer colleagues) to cover your day of, and I will still edit and retouch your images. If I cannot find a replacement to photograph in my place, you would receive a full refund.

Q: How many pictures will we get?

I quote 50-75 images returned per hour of coverage time, but very often I deliver more than that. Weddings see an average return of 400-900 fully edited and retouched images.

Q: Do you have insurance?

Of course! As a professionally run business I am fully insured. If your venue requires a certificate of liability, I’m more than happy to supply them one.

Q: Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Yes, I have a group of incredible colleagues I work with who can be added on for extra coverage. I am very picky about my team! Depending on the size of your wedding, the venue location or simply your preference of having a team of two, we can add on an that extra perspective to your coverage.

Q: Do you include retouching?

Yes! My collections include editing and retouching, with your best interests in mind. The process I go through while editing your images is one full of creative decisions including composition adjustments, lighting fixes, small object removal, blemish correction, and the cohesive, moody and romantic toning of the images you see in my portfolio.

Q: Do you also offer video services?

We do! My husband is my videographer and we offer a fully customizable video experience. From artistic films, to highlight reels, and delivery of all RAW video footage.

Q: Do you shoot film?

Absolutely, film was my first artistic love. I've been working in 35mm and medium format for over 15 years and love to include it on wedding and elopement days. I often shoot a roll in a point and shoot for fun, but clients are welcome to add on a full film experience to their collection as well.

Ashley is the G.O.A.T
Ashley is the best in the business. Period. We were initially incredibly excited to discover Ashley had our wedding date available, however, the result she delivered exceeded all expectations. Not only did she make us feel incredibly comfortable during the personal shots, but she caught moments in which I was completely unaware of her presence. If you are lucky enough, hire Ashley to capture moments that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Five stars is not sufficient to describe the experience Ashley provides for her clients.

Best of the Best!
Ashley is seriously one of the best vendors I've ever worked with. Her photos are wonderful and fit the sweet, romantic style with a hint of vintage. But not only is her work great, she's so easy to work with. She makes sure to be there for every step of the process and is so easy to talk to. My husband and I are not the most photogenic but she makes the whole process simple and fun. I can't recommend her enough!

As a photographer, I have such a deep appreciation for art. I’ve been following Ashley for years. She’s always been one of my favorite photographers I’ve watched grow and always share the most beautiful pictures. It was incredibly special to finally be able to work with her. From the moment we arrived through the whole session, she made us feel comfortable, natural, and effortless. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also kind, welcoming, and supportive — as clients and as a fellow photographer. We are going to buy our first home together soon, and I had always envisioned a specific look of photos on our wall. And the only person I ever saw taking those photos, was Ashley. The only thing I regret is not booking Ashley Vandervelde Photography sooner and multiple times. She did such a wonderful job, and we WILL be hiring her again!
