I have an unfettered adoration for this journey we call life. It’s the uncontrollable belly laughs at inside jokes. It’s the mountain vistas and the smell of sagebrush burning in a desert bonfire. It’s the cozy Sunday snuggles with your partner and puppy. All of it. It’s so sweet. I’m a Salt Lake City and Park City Wedding Photographer who proudly calls Utah home. Honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else other than photography. It’s a joy to capture meaningful moments and create art with amazing humans from all over the world!

Your story is the most important thing to me. So I balance capturing authentic and candid photos of the celebration with crafting creative portraits that honor who you are together and as individuals. I'll document how your day felt—the joy, the jitters, the crazy party, the wild love. From the intimate to the epic, I will be fully present for you. I'm a team player and a friend, on top of being an artist and photographer. I want you to feel relaxed and have fun while working with me, because photography should be an awesome experience!

    Work with Austen!!

    If you want phenomenal, authentic wedding photos that capture the joy of the day, you should work with Austen. If you ALSO want to work with a vendor who is experienced in the industry, proactively offers up his expertise for the details that you didn't know you needed to think about yet, and someone who helps you structure your wedding day to get great pictures with all your loved ones while still being fully present, you should DEFINITELY work with Austen. He's communicative, professional, and an all around pleasure to work with. We could not be more pleased with the pictures that we get to look back on.

    Engagement and wedding photos!

    Rich Mountainscapes and Vibrant Storytelling

    We first hired Austen for his scenic mountainscapes and rich color palettes. With a wide range of complexions and the unpredictable lighting of an outdoor wedding, we needed someone we could trust to render every person and every scene with bright, true-to-life vibrance. It was clear from Austen’s portfolio that he was a true and highly skilled artist. His ability to capture landscapes and portraiture simultaneously was exactly what we had hoped for when we first chose Utah for our wedding. We never saw a single picture from him that looked washed-out or muted, and we instantly trusted that he’d be able to bring our vision to life. When we got our photos back (which, for the preview at least, was just 48 hours after our wedding), we were most surprised by how perfectly he was able to capture the emotion of the day from our guests. Aside from his obvious technical ability, Austen is a true storyteller. When we look through our photos, we’re able to completely relive our wedding day through the eyes and hearts of our guests. To us, that’s the greatest gift that Austen could have given us.

    Austen was so great to work with. He was described by a guest at our wedding as being very tactical with all his gear and how well prepared he was for our big day. He captured so many great photos during our wedding and worked well with our planner and us. He kept a sense of humor during the day which helped us relax during the day. He also has a natural eye for composition, lighting, and those candid shots. We would 110% recommend using Austen as your photographer for your next big event. He is so fun to work with!

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Yes! I offer wedding video as an add-on to photography coverage, from a highlight film up to full multi-camera coverage of the ceremony, toasts, etc. You get both photo and video without hiring separate teams.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. Don’t worry, this won’t cost you extra.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 2-3 weeks after your wedding. This is much faster than the average turnaround time in the industry!
You can expect about 75 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In my 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted shooter.
My clients have said that my wedding photography is authentic, creative, and playful. I’d also add that I’m a romantic at heart and it comes across in my photos. I edit in a style that is timeless, clean, and punchy. All this said, my top priority is to capture moments, create portraits, and deliver images to show how the day felt.
