Hey there, I’m Elena! I’m a wedding and engagement photographer based in Bristol, VA/TN, serving couples across Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina—with a special love for weddings in the DC and Northern Virginia area. My style is relaxed, playful, and observant, and I help camera-shy couples feel comfortable in front of the lens. Before weddings, I spent a decade as a travel reporter, which shaped my storytelling approach. I also offer a seamless photo+video bundle with my trusted videographer, so your day is captured beautifully—without any chaos.

Important Note: I don’t expect you to be a professional model! My style is perfect for those who feel a bit camera-shy.     The photographer you dream of finding!

    From our first conversation, Elena at Focus on the Moment made it clear she was someone we could trust completely. She stayed organized and responsive throughout the planning process, which gave us so much peace of mind leading up to our wedding day. You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
You will get your 10-15 sneak-peeks within 24 hours after the wedding. Your full online gallery will be ready within 4 weeks after the wedding.
Yes! All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. The best 100 "wedding highlights" pictures will also be edited for skin imperfections and every other little detail so you can print them as large canvases, and use in wedding albums.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding.
In my 7 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues. This won't cost you extra!
My job is to make you feel comfortable, to provide you with the very best depiction of your day, and to make you forget that I am even there. I also believe in treating all my clients with respect, so I will never impose my vision on you: instead, I like to figure out who my clients are and then let them be themselves. This day is yours, after all, not mine.
The good news is that you do not need to be a professional model to look great in my pictures; you simply need to be honest, open, sincere, and very much in love with one another! I will guide you and provide suggestions to help bring out your natural reactions. I rarely stage photos, except for formal family portraits and bridal party shots. But for most of your day, I will be photographing the natural events as they happen. Thanks to my 10+ years of professional experience as a photojournalist, I am skilled at capturing the "decisive moments" that are so important to your wedding day.
It is up to you. I recommend this optional session because it is an excellent opportunity for us to get to know one another. It also allows you to experience the photography process and begin to feel comfortable in front of the camera. This session takes place on a separate day.
I am a graduate of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City, where I completed a one-year Photojournalism program. Before starting my wedding photography business in 2017, I spent ten years working as a photographer for GEO, a European travel magazine.
I require a signed contract and a 50% retainer to book your date. The remaining balance is due one month before the event. I also offer payment plans, allowing you to pay in 4 or 8 smaller installments.
