Iris Chen Photography is a documentary wedding and family photography studio based in Augusta, Georgia, serving the CSRA and the Southeast — Aiken, Columbia, Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, and Atlanta. Trained in fine art at SCAD, I photograph weddings the way they actually feel: relaxed, documentary-inspired, and gently guided when you need direction. I create space for genuine moments to unfold — quiet glances, unplanned laughter, the in-between moments — and deliver hand-edited photos with a storytelling slideshow in 3–4 weeks. Every collection includes a private gallery and printing rights, and I love to travel.

Fine-art training (SCAD), a calm and joyful presence on your wedding day, and meticulous preparation- locations, timelines, even the weather forecast. Couples tell me they felt comfortable and guided from start to finish, and galleries are delivered fast: hand-edited photos with a storytelling slideshow within 3-4 weeks.

Yes! I love traveling for weddings and intimate celebrations throughout Georgia, South Carolina, and beyond. Whether you're planning an elegant wedding in Atlanta, a romantic elopement in Savannah, or a coastal celebration in Charleston, I'm always excited to document love stories in beautiful places.
More than anything, I hope you remember how it felt. Long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended, your photographs become one of the few things that remain. My hope is that years from now, you'll look through your gallery and be transported back to the love, joy, and quiet moments that began your marriage.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 3-4 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
In my 2 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
