About Nathaniel Barnoff Photography
Nathaniel Barnoff Photography
Born and raised in a small town in rural Ohio, I’m now based near Seattle capturing love stories across the PNW and beyond. I’m a cat dad, recently engaged to my beautiful fiancée, and obsessed with honest, artful photography that reflects who you are—not just how things looked, but how they felt. Whether it’s a mountaintop elopement, courthouse “I do,” or backyard celebration with your closest people, I’m here to tell your story in a way that feels true to you.
I don’t just show up with a camera—I show up as a calming presence, a guide, and someone who truly sees you. I’ll help you feel comfortable, be yourselves, and soak in every moment. No forced poses, no cookie-cutter approach—just honest, emotional storytelling that reflects your unique connection. Whether it’s helping with timelines or finding the perfect light, I’m all in for making your day feel easy, meaningful, and entirely your own.

The Perfect Choice
From the first time I looked through Nathaniel’s work, I knew he understood the kind of magic I wanted captured on our wedding day. There is such a romantic quality to his photography—the colors, the composition, the way he uses the surroundings—and his style felt completely right for us. And looking at our photos now, I regret absolutely nothing. His work is beautiful. Nathaniel himself has a very calm, gentle, soft-spoken presence, which was honestly lovely to have around us on such an emotional and overwhelming day. He never felt intrusive or like there was constantly a camera in our faces. There are so many photographs where I look at them and wonder how he managed to capture that particular moment without me even realizing he was there. One thing I would mention for future couples is that if you have a large wedding party or family that needs some serious wrangling, I would make sure your coordinator or another designated person is prepared to take charge of gathering people and keeping everyone moving through the shot list. Nathaniel is naturally more soft-spoken than commanding, and with a big group and a busy timeline, having someone there who can loudly call names and keep everyone organized would be really helpful. We also occasionally reminded him that we wanted plenty of candid photos throughout the day, as it was easy for everyone to get swept up in everything happening. That being said, Nathaniel ended up being so much more than just our photographer that day. Our day-of coordination unfortunately wasn't as present as we had expected, and Nathaniel was frequently the person right there beside us when we needed someone. At one point I spilled a drink and he immediately jumped in to help me clean it up. He tracked down things we needed from the groomsmen. He helped walk us through signing our marriage license. These weren't things that were technically his responsibility, but when he saw that we needed help, he helped. I will always remember and appreciate that. There is something incredibly reassuring about having a photographer who genuinely cares about the people on the other side of his camera. We spent so much of one of the most important days of our lives with Nathaniel beside us, and his calm presence made him incredibly easy to have there. Most importantly, though, we have beautiful photographs that actually feel like our wedding. They are romantic without feeling artificial, colorful without being overdone, and composed in a way that captured just how beautiful the day felt to us while we were living it. There are photos that feel grand and cinematic and others that capture tiny moments I never want to forget. Wedding photography was something that mattered enormously to me because when everything else from the day is over, these are the images we get to keep. I wanted photographs that would bring me back to how our wedding *felt*, not simply document what it looked like. Nathaniel gave us that, and I am incredibly grateful he was the person behind the camera on our wedding day.

Highly recommended!
Nate was phenomenal! He and his fiancée traveled to shoot our couples photos turned proposal/engagement photos at Lake Crescent in WA, my now fiancé and sister-in-law planned with him. Great communication, helped us with choosing a location, and was flexible with our availability and weather. He took his time with us to get all the shots we desired and guided us through posing. Generous gallery of beautiful photos delivered quickly. Professional, friendly, talented. Thank you!!!

Amazing Photographer
Nathaniel was outstanding all around. We started with an engagement session. I wanted photos on the Vashon ferry and at my parents’ house. Nathaniel was willing to hang out with us for 5 hours - taking photos and getting to know us. The photos were outstanding - so sweet, classic, and didn’t feel posed. Then we had Nathaniel do our wedding. He was so helpful through the whole planning process - responsive, and so willing to jump into whatever we needed/wanted. The day of - he captured so much of our day - beyond my expectations. He wasn’t over the top or getting in the way - just blended into our day and produced photos that I absolutely adore. He was so kind to everyone and it really felt comfortable - I didn’t feel awkward even with so many photos. Nathaniel will be our go-to photographer going forward.

The Best Photographer for your Intimate Wedding
Nathaniel was wonderful to work with and the pictures turned out so beautiful! He shot our wedding and an engagement shoot and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. As people who don't typically feel comfortable in front of the camera, he quickly put us at ease with his clear direction and calming energy. He captured our wedding day perfectly and we are so grateful we found him! Highly recommend for anyone considering a wedding/engagement photographer in Seattle area :)

Our Alaska Elopement
Nathaniel was so sweet and professional from start to finish. He agreed to fly to Alaska just to photograph our wedding and we couldn’t be happier! Besides embracing the chaos of our wedding weekend and our families, Nathaniel also captured the weekend perfectly while also going with the flow. Between the laughs and tears and rain he managed to put everything into photos for us to relive the weekend over and over. Despite all of the craziness of the wedding we got to know Nathaniel a little bit and it truly felt like we were working with an old friend. We are forever grateful to Nathaniel, thank you!
