Kendra Smith is a documentary-style photographer and videographer working in 35mm, 120, and Super 8 film, where she focuses on honest emotion and documentary integrity. Inspired by the intimacy of Eve Arnold and the elegance of Slim Aarons, she blends portraiture with unfiltered storytelling—capturing raw emotion in images that are candid, cinematic, and timeless.

Kendra has been photographing people, places, and things since she was a kid. Weddings came naturally as she picked up her first digital in 2016 and continued to take on weddings while working full-time. After years of in-house photography work with various marketing positions, she decided to pursue her own business in 2021. Her experience as a photographer ranges from weddings, events, to studio and editorial photography. She is passionate about stories and how we all find our place in the world and capturing the beauty in the big and small moments. From the individual to the collective, she hopes to capture what is true and honest.

    Stop looking, Kendra is your dream photographer!

    The first thing I did for wedding planning was booking Kendra. And hiring her was best decision I made for our wedding! I audibly gasped when I saw our sneak peeks and I don’t know how she did it, but the full gallery was even better!! She is so personable and her incredible talent shows through in her work.     We love Kendra!!!

    We truly cannot say enough good things about our wedding photographer! From the very beginning, she was so thoughtful, organized, and genuinely fun to be around. She made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, which is not an easy thing to do, and somehow captured every moment so naturally and beautifully. When we got our gallery back, we were honestly blown away. The photos were better than we could have ever imagined — emotional, artistic, candid, and full of so much joy. She captured not only how everything looked, but exactly how the day felt. Beyond her incredible talent, she brought such a calming and positive energy to the entire day.     Kendra Smith - best decision of our wedding!

    Kendra's casual but impactful documentary style combined with her skills in shooting film was why we chose to work with her for our wedding. Her style represented us perfectly, and she was professional and caring from the very beginning of the process all the way to the end. On the actual wedding day, she was stealth and adaptive to everything that happened. She made sure our shot list was followed but somehow also managed to capture every little unpredictable moment that made the day so special to us.     Amazing experience highly recommend

    I have so many amazing things to say about Kendra. Throughout the entire wedding planning process and on our wedding day she made us feel so comfortable, heard, and important. She was so organized with communication and timeline the months ahead and day of, and it made everything go so seamlessly. She is incredibly talented and we loved all of our photos and video she did for us, I couldn’t recommend her more! She is such a great photographer and person and will definitely be a friend for years to come.

A film add-on is either by the roll = $125/roll or packaged by % of rolls added. This includes everything needed for authentic film photography - the cameras, film, post-processing fees, scanning, editing, and final delivery (I mail you the hard copies after everything is uploaded digitally). I learned to be a photographer on analog cameras with 35mm film. It is still my favorite medium to photograph with!
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.
Yes! I offer a video that results in a 3-4 minute final edit with music of your choice
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. Busy season, this can take 8-10 weeks. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a link to download high-resolution or web-sized image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
You can expect about 60 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors. Numbers are more defined by package minimum.
In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement. I will also be sure to return all forms of payment - including the deposit.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. Don’t worry, this won’t cost you extra.
Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
