Rob Jinks is a D.C.-based wedding and family photographer, offering presence-led photography that honors connection and preserves it with care. With over a decade of professional experience and more than 350 weddings documented, his work is guided by an artistic eye and a steady attentiveness. Rather than encouraging performance, he notices what’s sacred and makes it last through heirloom artwork. When he's not behind the camera, Rob is likely hiking in a national park, sipping a cappuccino (and wishing he was in a hammock), or savoring time at home with his wife and kids.

    The Absolute Best in VA

    When my husband and I began looking for photographers, we looked at many different photographers portfolios and Rob’s stuck out the most. The way he was able to capture couples weddings from start to finish in such a way that told the story was truly amazing. When we spoke with Rob and found out his pricing, my husband and I were a bit hesitant to spend so much on a wedding photographer, but I can say without a doubt that out of every vendor we booked for our wedding, Rob is the one who was worth every single penny. He truly was able to capture our wedding day in a way that brought us tears of joy. If we had to do our entire wedding over again he’d be the first on our list to book! From talking before the booking process to the photo reveal, it was such a smooth process and he made the whole thing feel magical. If you can, book Rob because he will absolutely do what you want and more!

    An incredible storyteller

    I’ve photographed nearly a hundred weddings, and it’s rare to encounter someone like Rob. His approach is entirely unique—he’s not just capturing moments, he’s chasing the story. Whether it’s action on the dance floor, a mother’s tender embrace after a rambunctious child scrapes their knee, or the electric passion of a first kiss, Rob is always where the story unfolds. His ability to stay on-point and immerse himself in the narrative of the day is nothing short of remarkable. Working with Rob for just one afternoon left a lasting impression on me. Despite my own extensive experience, I found myself inspired—not just to live up to his high standards, but even to ask about his availability to photograph my own wedding. That’s how deeply Rob’s dedication and precision resonate. Furthermore, Rob provided me with a full critique of every single image I captured alongside him to help me grow, and I have NEVER seen or heard of that within the industry. I’m struggling to find the right adjectives to describe Rob, but let’s put it this way—he’s REALLY good.

    Stunning photos with a calm, caring professional

    My husband and I are so happy we chose to work with Rob for our wedding day! From the very start of the process, Rob was personable and asked us many thoughtful questions about our love story, our vision for our wedding day, and why we wanted to invest in wedding photos. Perhaps more so than any other vendor, he took the time to get to know us and understand our values. Our fun engagement session introduced us to Rob's adventurous spirit and authentic approach to taking portraits. We're both a little camera shy but enjoyed the process and genuinely treasure our engagement pictures. On our wedding day, Rob was an oasis of calm and confidence. He even surprised us with a physical preview photo album shortly after the ceremony. He is a consummate professional, kept us on track through the planning process, and asked the best questions.     Love Rob

    Rob did an amazing job. The guests loved him and he really got some amazing shots. He got down on the ground, climbed fences, and ran all over the place to get the shot when we thought of it. He make everyone comfortable and really make sure to get those shots during the wedding with dancing and fun

The earlier the better, especially for peak season summer and fall months. Most couples book 9-12 months ahead. HOWEVER, no matter when your wedding might be, please reach out, you never know who on our team is available!
The image isn't done until it has been edited. We take thousands of photos but we cull, edit, and deliver only the best-of-the-best images to you. Our weddings average 500 delivered images. But if we get a great photo, it's yours, there's no minimum or maximum with your memories :)
We're just as excited as you are to enjoy your photos! You'll get some of our favorites within the first week and see your full album of images at your reveal celebration 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
We wouldn't be able to sleep properly if we didn't. Yes we have insurance and can provide you a COI if needed.
Crazy things can happen, but we are committed to taking care of you. We have a team of photographers we can lean on through our studio as well as relationships with a large number of photo teams in the area. If something happens we'll work with you to make sure you still get amazing memories.
We are huge fans of having at least two photographers at your wedding, and potentially an assistant. Let's talk to find out what works best for you!
