Lake Tahoe and Beyond Wedding Photographer

I’m a wedding and elopement photographer based in Truckee, and I get to work in some of the best places in Tahoe. Palisades, the Ritz-Carlton, Everline. I also travel to Maui, Napa, and the Bay Area, so if your plans are somewhere else, ask. My approach is simple. I’d rather get to know you a little before the day so you’re not stiff when the camera comes out. Then I stay close, keep things relaxed, and shoot what’s really happening. The laughing, the nerves, your dad tearing up at the wrong moment. That’s the stuff you’ll want to look at in twenty years. I’d love to hear about your day. I came up shooting for a newspaper. Nobody posed for those photos. Things just happened and I was there to document them. That's still how I work at weddings. I'm not running the show or pulling you away from your reception for a 45 minute portrait session. I'm reading the room, finding the light, and making photographs that look like your day actually felt. I know the light at Palisades Tahoe, the Ritz-Carlton, Sand Harbor, Dancing Pines, and venues up and down the California coast. That location knowledge means less wasted time and better photos.

    Wade was truly a highlight of our wedding day! He has such incredible energy and a unique ability to blend seamlessly into the party. Because he felt more like a guest than a vendor, he was able to capture all those candid, joyful moments that are so easy to miss in the whirlwind of the day.     We hired Wade to shoot our engagement pics, our welcome drinks and our wedding. We loved how laid back he was and knew just the right of direction to give to get the shot but not make it feel too performative. We were going for more documentary style, and he delivered it perfectly. He also carved out some time with our planner to make sure we got pictures at the perfect time of day, and the whole thing was executed flawlessly. Honestly our whole wedding loved him he was a fantastic addition to the day! He also brought a camcorder and had guests film clips and those were so cool to have as a memory in addition the the thousand-ish photos. I also liked that he gave us a few pictures as a preview the very same night, so we would have something to look forward to with the big album.
