Nice to meet you! I'm Karen Steele, owner of Tahoe By Design, event and wedding planning agency based in South Lake Tahoe. If you are planning a Lake Tahoe wedding, we are here for you! We are one of the only wedding planners with offices in Lake Tahoe and we only service the Tahoe Basin. My background is 20 years in corporate events working for tech companies in the Bay Area, as well as large agencies. I love what I do! It is truly an honor to work with couples on such an important day. My goal is to make the process simple, stress free and let's have fun in the process.

We are one of the only wedding planners living in Lake Tahoe with professional offices and design showroom. We work with all kinds of clients and pride ourselves on diversity and inclusiveness. Karen is AMAZING!!!
Karen was the second vendor we hired, right after booking our venue, and choosing her was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She is truly exceptional at what she does. Throughout the entire planning process, she was responsive, knowledgeable, organized, and incredibly well-connected in the Tahoe area. Her expertise helped bring our dream wedding to life. We had a long engagement, and our plans evolved several times along the way. Karen was flexible, patient, and supportive through every change, always making us feel confident that everything was under control. She consistently went above and beyond what we expected from a wedding planner. One moment that perfectly reflects her dedication happened during our rehearsal at High Camp at Palisades. We quickly realized it was much colder than we had anticipated, and we requested for Karen to secure throw blankets for our guests to enjoy during the ceremony and cocktail hour. She was able to secure the most aesthetic and affordable throw blankets in less than 24 hours and exceeded our expectations. Karen also provided invaluable design recommendations that elevated our venue and made our wedding feel elegant and cohesive. On the wedding day itself, she was nothing short of incredible. If anything went wrong, we genuinely have no idea because she handled everything seamlessly behind the scenes. She coordinated with all of our vendors, ensured everyone was where they needed to be, made sure every detail was in place, and brought our vision to life exactly as we had imagined. We cannot recommend Karen highly enough. She is professional, responsive, organized, and an absolute joy to have by your side on one of the most important days of your life. If you're looking for a wedding planner who truly cares about her couples and delivers an exceptional experience, Karen is the one.

Wonderful coordinator
Karen was wonderful to work with! She and her team member helped make our wedding day so seamless. Small details that I had forgotten I even asked Karen to help with, she was on top of. We were so impressed by their level of kindness, support and professionalism. We could not recommend Tahoe by Design enough! Additionally, Karen was so kind to check on me leading up to the wedding and made sure to let me know she was there if we needed anything. I owe her for helping keep my nerves and anxiety at a minimum.

Karen was absolutely indispensable. She provided support beyond what we expected for day-of coordination, and we had a great time throughout the planning process. Our wedding had some very last minute weather issues and Karen carried all of us through without a hitch. You can tell she really loves this work, and we can’t recommend her highly enough

Excellent Wedding Planner!
I am a DJ in the wedding industry who loves working with Karen and her team at weddings! She is very easy to work with before and during weddings, she is very responsive with phone calls and emails plus she goes above and beyond to take care of us as a vendor. She also makes our job easy because she works as our second set of eyes to make sure all of the details are executed during our clients' weddings. Her experience as a planner makes her one of the very best in the wedding industry. I would highly recommend Tahoe By Design for your wedding or event!!!
