Grateful for Her Support
We worked with Melannie from VW Events & Co. for partial planning beginning about six months before our wedding, as well as day-of coordination. Overall, we had a positive experience and are very grateful for the amount of stress she took off our plates throughout the planning process. Leading up to the wedding, Melannie was responsive, communicative, and incredibly helpful. She created our day-of timeline, communicated with vendors, attended meetings when requested, helped with logistics, and asked questions we never would have thought of ourselves. She also did a great job running our rehearsal. She took charge, coordinating with our pastor, walking everyone through the timeline/processional, and answering questions from our bridal party. Our biggest disappointment was the communication and coordination immediately before the ceremony. Our bridal suite was separate from the main venue, and there was very little communication with the bride and bridesmaids once Melannie arrived. When our photography timeline began running behind, there seemed to be some confusion about where the bride should be and when we should move to the venue. We were brought over too early, which left the bride waiting outside in a golf cart in 86-degree weather while guests were arriving, then being moved into the kitchen while catering and the bar were setting up. There also wasn't a chair available until one was requested just a few minutes before walking down the aisle. We had assumed there would naturally be a plan for where the bride could comfortably and privately wait before the ceremony, so we wish this portion of the day had been better coordinated and communicated. That being said, once the ceremony began, everything ran very smoothly. One thing we especially appreciated was Melannie giving us about five minutes completely alone immediately after the ceremony to take everything in as newlyweds. That small moment truly meant so much to us. The reception also ran smoothly overall, and she was attentive to the timeline, helped keep our vendors coordinated, and assisted with cleanup at the end of the night. Melannie was always kind and knew when to be firm when the situation called for it. Having her there allowed us to carry much less of the logistical stress ourselves and helped us stay calm and enjoy our wedding day. We would recommend Melannie and VW Events & Co., while also encouraging couples, especially those with a separate getting-ready space, to have a detailed conversation beforehand about day-of communication and where the bride and bridal party will be immediately before the ceremony. As someone with a Type B brain but a Type A personality, I found having a coordinator absolutely worth it! Having someone who could step in and essentially be another “brain” for us throughout the planning process and wedding day was incredibly valuable. We are thankful for everything Melannie did to help bring our day together and especially appreciate all of her support during the months leading up to our wedding.

Working with VW Events & Company was such a relief from start to finish. Their team communicated with us in a way that felt natural and stress-free, always willing to answer questions and hear our ideas. What really stood out was how organized they were they kept every detail on track and made sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day without us having to stress about the logistics. You could tell they genuinely cared about making our vision come to life, and their dedication showed in every decision they made for us. We felt taken care of the entire time, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better planning experience. Wonderful and worry free wedding day!
We hired Melannie for ceremony setup and teardown, and reception setup. Getting everything done during a pretty narrow window of time was a logistical problem I just couldn’t solve on my own, but Melannie was able to make it happen. Honestly, without her help, I’m not sure if we would’ve been able to pull it all together! I had spoken to a couple other event coordinators, and I was surprised that most vendors would only do setup and teardown of their own rentals (we used our venue’s chairs), but Melannie was able to do exactly what we needed! I’m so grateful she was available and willing to take care of everything for us. We got to enjoy our wedding day knowing that she had everything handled.
