    Wedding

I had my wedding at Anaheim Hills Golf Course this past September. During the contracting phase I specifically asked whether there were any renovation plans and was told no, and was assured that any potential future work would not affect our wedding which was booked a year in advance. One month before our wedding we were informed that our contracted ceremony space would still be under construction. The venue offered alternatives including a tent and aisle runner which did not provide any cost savings and would not have been necessary if had the original terms of our contract been honored. The ceremony to reception transition was very clunky and challenging for elderly guests. They promised to power wash the cocktail hour space, frost the windows to conceal the construction, and limit guests and staff from walking next to the alternate ceremony site. These items were either not completed or only addressed after we brought to their attention the day before the wedding. We also had 800 in savings removed from our estimate without notice after opting out of certain rentals, despite having the agreement in writing. We were also presented with unexpected charges like a 200 stair fee after already paying for a wrapped stage, and additional charges for menu selections we had been told at our tasting would not be an upgrade. Brittany was pleasant to work with and made us feel supported given the circumstances, although delayed communication, even during the week of the wedding created unnecessary stress. The day of coordinator Natasha, was disorganized and unprofessional. Our rehearsal lacked clear direction and caused unnecessary confusion, and her demeanor on the wedding day was so unprofessional that multiple guests commented on it. Based solely on our experience with her I would not recommend Anaheim Hills Golf Course while she is overseeing weddings.

    Very Disappointed Bride

I am writing this review in hopes that other brides see it before booking this venue and that the venue takes this feedback seriously. I was genuinely excited to have my wedding here. The initial tour was wonderful and the staff was welcoming. Unfortunately, after paying our deposit, the communication, coordination, and execution became increasingly disappointing. 1. Moldy bread was served to a guest One of our guests discovered a piece of moldy bread being served. They had to bring it to my attention and get a manager, and unfortunately, the staff did not take action. I informed my coordinator the next day, who was unaware of the incident. This was incredibly embarrassing and concerning. There should have been proper food-quality control before serving 163 guests. 2. More than half of our guests did not receive hors d'oeuvres After the wedding, I checked with several guests and learned that **more than half did not receive hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour**, despite this being part of the service we paid for. There should have been enough staff to ensure all guests were served. 3. Inadequate bar service There was only one clearly staffed bar for 163 guests. If another bar was available, there was little to no direction for guests to find it, resulting in a crowd at one bar. 4. The salad was extremely wilted The salad served at the reception was extremely wilted, including the salads served to my husband and me, which we did not eat. Many guests also left theirs uneaten. This was another disappointing example of poor food-quality control. 5. Approximately half of our guests did not receive cake We had enough cake for everyone, yet approximately half of the guests on one side of the ballroom were never served cake. Friends later told me they never received a slice. I ended up with an entire bottom layer of cake left over. The cake was there; it simply was not properly distributed. 6. Our ceremony location was changed two weeks before the wedding** About two weeks before the wedding, our ceremony was moved from the original area we had paid for. I tried to be understanding and trusted the venue when they assured me they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, the additional coordinators seemed unsure of what was happening. Abby was the one coordinator who consistently stood out as knowing what needed to be done and actively working to keep things moving. I truly appreciate her efforts, but she is only one person, and the other coordinators were often nowhere to be found. Overall What makes this especially disappointing is that I genuinely wanted to love this venue. The initial experience was great, but the actual execution fell far short of what we expected. I understand weddings are complicated and mistakes happen. However, I expect proper communication, organization, food-quality control, adequate staffing, and attention to detail—especially for such an important day. I hope future brides ask detailed questions about communication, staffing, food quality, cocktail-hour service, bar coverage, cake distribution, and what happens if the ceremony location changes. I sincerely hope the venue learns from this experience and makes meaningful improvements for future couples.
