The Day Block Event Center is just a short walk from Minneapolis landmarks like Gold Medal Park, The Guthrie Theatre, and the Stone Arch Bridge. There is both historic and new architecture along the Mississippi River which make exceptional sites for your wedding portraits.     We had such a great experience working with the team at Day Block in Minneapolis. The space itself is BEAUTIFUL — the exposed brick and natural light made the perfect backdrop for our event. The team was incredibly flexible and accommodating, even making adjustments to the setup the morning of when I came in for a walk-through. Joanna was an outstanding server: warm, attentive, and completely on top of every detail. Jeff was patient and kind throughout the planning process, coordinating with me over text, calls, and email to make sure everything ran smoothly. It’s rare to find a venue that combines great service, character, and collaboration this seamlessly. Highly recommend Day Block for any group gathering or event — they’re a true pleasure to work with.

    I photograph a lot of weddings, but photographing recently at Day Block Event Center was a real treat. Tons of character in such a beautiful building, kind staff, delicious drinks, and a location that places you in the middle of everything this beautiful city has to offer. Day Block was amazing!

    Had our wedding in Oct 2024. We booked the venue a little less than a year out in 2023. The owners/managers were very hands off during the planning process, but always available to answer questions when we called, and was willing to set aside time in their work day for us to stop in and speak to them about the wedding as well. (They are a bar/restaurant downstairs underneath the venue, so the event space is not the only business that they have and are busy with). They even made special accommodations for us for a reasonable/inexpensive price for what we were asking them to do. Now onto the space and my wedding itself. We had about 150 people there. When we booked the wedding, we were told we could fit 150 comfortably, but much more than that might be getting a little tight. (And boy do we appreciate that honesty up front.) I believe we had just over 150 (155 ish including wedding party, 160 ish including vendors and caterers, vendors and caterers were not there for the whole event) and it was very comfortable. When everyone was in the smaller back room, it was a little crowded, but still enough space to where you weren’t on top of one another. I would say if you are looking for a 100-140 ish person wedding that this would be a PERFECT size space. The size of the space and the number of people we had made our wedding very intimate and cozy feeling. Myself and my husband choose to live an alcohol free life (ironic that we chose a bar/brewing company for our wedding) and we chose to have 0 alcohol at our wedding besides champagne for the toast. The owners/managers were very respectful of this choice. We were given drink coupons to give out to guests who wished to have a drink, and we just asked that anyone consuming alcoholic beverages consumes them downstairs in the bar/restaurant area. Everyone at our wedding respected that choice, and Day Block made it possible for us to be able to let our guests enjoy a drink outside of our wedding space. The space itself is beautiful and made for beautiful pictures. I wish I could attach some of our wedding photos to this post. We had so many people comment on the unique spot that is Day Block. The location is really nice too. We walked a few blocks down to get some outside pictures of my husband and I and there are plenty of pretty spots around to be able to achieve that. They have a cute patio and cute deck area that we got some nice sunset pictures on. We got some beautiful pictures with portions of the Minneapolis skyline in the back. Overall, it was a truly wonderful space to have our special day at. And thank you so much to Day Block Event Center, special thanks to Chris and Jeff for everything they did for us. Day Block will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The price for the space will vary between $1,000 - $5,000 depending on the day of the event and the number of guests you plan on hosting. Visit our pricing page on our website www.dayblock.com/pricing for more information.
In order to secure the date you wish to hold your event, you must make a non-refundable date-hold deposit, which is 50% of the room rental fee.
The security deposit is $500, and it is due 120 days prior to the date of your event.
The date-hold deposit will be due when you reserve the space. The security deposit and remainder of the room rental fees will be due 120 days prior to the date of your event.
Unfortunately we are unable to refund any charges if the event is cancelled within 120 days of the event. If the event is cancelled more than 120 days before the event, 50% of the rental amount will be refunded. In addition, expenses incurred necessary to produce your event may not be refunded, or may not be refunded in full if cost have been incurred toward that obligation.

No. If you would like to provide or sell alcohol at your event, Day Block Brewing Company's beverage service will need to be utilized. This service provides a large selection of beer, wine, and spirits sure to satisfy any palate.

Yes, we are an ADA certified building. We have elevator access to the second floor event space.
The space can hold up to 250 guests. However, if you are planning on having sit-down meal service (with tables and chairs) the maximum guest capacity is about 200.
Weekend rentals have access at 10 am on the day of the event (earlier access fees apply). Weekday rental times may vary.
Yes you may, but they must be a licensed and insured vendor and approved by Day Block management. Outside catering fees may apply. These fees cover overhead working with outside vendors to ensure your event runs smoothly.
The Day Block building can easily accommodate transforming a room quickly. Many couples have had their wedding ceremonies in the East Room and scheduled a cocktail hour in the South Room while the East Room was set-up for a reception. Please ask your caterer if they can provide this service.
Any decorations you would like to keep and/or equipment brought in by either you or an outside vendor must be removed immediately following the event unless other arrangements have been made with Day Block Management.
The event itself can last up to 8 hours, set up time is not included in the 8 hours. All music needs to be off at 11pm and the event itself must be over by midnight. It is understood that your event may be shorter that 8 hours.
Music must end by 11 PM, however this doesn't mean your party has to stop there! If you are still within the 8 hour rental agreement, you and your guests may continue to enjoy the space.
- Please do not hang any decorations from the electrical equipment, electrical conduit, water pipes or air ducts. - Adhesives may be used to affix décor on the walls. If the walls become damaged, we will have to consider this when returning your security deposit. - If you are decorating with tea lights, they must be enclosed in glass. We ask that you have all other candles approved by management.

You may bring in your own tables and chairs, or rent them from a vendor. However, due to the wear and tear on walls, doors and the elevator, we must charge a $250 fee.
This depends on what you have booked and on which day. If your event is scheduled for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, it will be the only event. If it is held Monday-Thursday and you did not rent out the entire floor, it is possible another event may be held in one of the other rooms.
We have overhead speakers included in the rental that may be used for ambiance music/ceremonies. We also have projector/screen, microphones and speakers for rent. Contact us for more information.
You (and your caterer) are responsible for removing items you brought in and would like to keep at the end of the event. All items must be off tables and all trash must be removed–either disposed of in the dumpsters in the parking lot or offsite. Failure to remove trash may incur an additional charge or loss of deposit.
We have wine barrels that can be used to add a festive touch to your event. Additionally, we offer a variety of lighting packages to make your event shine.
