About this venue
St. Cecilia Music Center is a historic wedding venue situated in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, MI. When booking this facility for your big day, there are numerous event spaces to help bring your dream wedding to life. The Dexter Ballroom features elegant hardwood floors, west-facing windows, two Steinway grand pianos and a large kitchen. The ballroom can accommodate 250 standing guests or 184 for a plated dinner. There is also the Wege Recital Hall. It has enough space for 100 standing reception or 48 for a plated dinner. The room also boasts two grand pianos, a small kitchenette, and a fireplace. More-private gatherings may be held in the Mika Music Library, which provides couples and their loved ones with a warm, inviting atmosphere. It has walls with oak paneling, parquet floors, a piano, a kitchen, and a fireplace, and it can seat up to 48 guests. In addition, couples may avail of these and the venue’s other luxurious event spaces for their wedding ceremonies.

Incredible elegant venue!
We had an amazing experience with St. Cecilia Music Center! Nadine was incredibly responsive to all of our questions, so friendly and helpful, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The building itself is elegant, classy, and absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect size for our wedding of 150 guests, and we loved that there were multiple spaces where guests could spread out and enjoy themselves throughout the evening. We used the Wege Room for cocktail hour and the Dexter Ballroom for our reception, and both spaces felt like the perfect size for our guest count. The venue is also naturally beautiful, which meant we were able to keep our decor very minimal and save a significant amount of money on floral arrangements. Everything already felt so elegant that we really didn’t need to add much! We catered through Martha’s Vineyard, who are also very familiar with St. Cecilia Music Center, and they did a fantastic job. Having vendors who already know the venue made the whole experience feel even more seamless. I would 10/10 recommend St. Cecilia Music Center to other couples! The venue is gorgeous, the staff is wonderful, and you get an incredible amount of value for the price. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience or a more beautiful place to celebrate our wedding!

Nadine went above & beyond to make our wedding day special. She answered every question we had, worked around our schedules, and even accommodated last-minute changes without hesitation. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked, which relieved so much of the stress that comes with wedding planning. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and its historic architecture made our reception feel timeless & romantic. We loved that they're pet friendly, so our dog could be part of the celebration, and we also appreciated their transparency with pricing - no hidden fees. We can't recommend St. Cecilia highly enough to couples looking for a venue that truly cares about making your day perfect.

Wedding Reception
We had such a wonderful time getting married at St. Cecelia! Nadine was such a wonderful connection, and she truly went above and beyond to ensure that our day was wonderful. The team there is full of effective communicators who are true professionals at what they do. My husband and I had such a perfect day, and everything from early planning stages to the day of was easy with St. Cecilias. I can't recommend them enough!

Beautiful all-in-one venue!
Our wedding here was amazing! The building is gorgeous and Nadine was super easy to work with. We used the projector in the ballroom to play MarioKart which was so fun! It was also very convenient to have everything in one place; two suites for getting ready, a room for the ceremony, and the ballroom was the perfect reception hall.

November Wedding
We held our wedding reception in the Dexter Ballroom and could not be happier that we chose St. Cecilia to be our "something old." Nadine was our point of contact throughout the planning process and communicating with her was so easy! She answered all of our questions promptly and allowed us to come in multiple times to view the space as we planned decor and nailed down the little details of our wedding. The space is beautiful! We wanted a venue that was naturally pretty so that we didn't need much decor. All we really needed to do on the day was set up centerpieces, put the guest book out, and set up the cards and gifts station - no other decor required. One thing that we really appreciated was that St. Cecilia allowed us to change the time of our rental (you get 12 hours - noon to midnight) to 11:30 - 11:30 so that our families had time to decorate before our 1:30 ceremony. Parking at the venue was easy. We had 110 people and nobody had to park elsewhere. Everyone fit comfortably into the ballroom (we had 14 tables plus a sweetheart table for us) with a sizable dance floor without needing to move any furniture around. We had a meeting with Nadine a few weeks before the wedding to nail down our floor plan and final details, which eased a lot of anxiety. Everything flowed so smoothly on the day which is definitely a credit to all of our vendors. Highly recommend this venue!
