We went to an event here - about 100 people. It was August and the AC was out. There was mold on the acoustic ceiling tiles - not just a little bit - huge patches of mold. It’s obvious the roof is leaking but how hard is it to trade out an acoustic ceiling tiles? I was so sad for my friends who had spent MONTHS planning this celebration. People left early because they were so miserable hot. My friends contacted the office at 11 am for the event at 4 pm about the AC. They brought small AC units that did nothing. The entire time we were there I did not see a single employee - not a maintenance man, not an AC tech, not a manager to apologize. Nobody. They ruined their event. I would not ever have an event here. Also the grounds have tons of stickers and mesquite trees. So sad because it could be so beautiful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry the air conditioning unexpectedly failed on the day of your friends' event. We understand how disappointing and frustrating that was for everyone involved. As soon as we were notified, our staff responded by delivering two portable air conditioning units and an industrial fan to help make the space as comfortable as possible while we worked to resolve the issue. We also immediately placed an emergency service call with our HVAC company and were initially advised that a technician would arrive around 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, despite our repeated calls and follow-up throughout the day, the technician did not arrive as promised, and we were unable to secure another HVAC company on short notice that Saturday. While equipment failures are never planned, we did everything we could to address the situation as quickly as possible. We also worked directly with the event organizer, Cynthia, and provided a full refund for the rental due to the inconvenience. We truly appreciated her understanding and were grateful to hear she still enjoyed the resort overall and looks forward to returning. Regarding the ceiling tiles, we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. We take the condition of our facilities seriously and are addressing the areas that require maintenance. We sincerely apologize that this unexpected mechanical failure impacted what should have been a wonderful celebration. Providing our guests with a great experience is always our priority, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide the experience we are known for in the future

We were here on a family get together and rented 3 of the Tree Top Villas. There was a discrepancy in the different buildings. The furniture was the biggest difference because some were more updated than others. While they were fairly clean, they were very outdated and the furniture was so old and worn it was uncomfortable. The steps leading up had nails sticking out and were in need of repainting. They also would be nicer if there was some non-slip tape or paint on them because they were very slippery when it rained. The pool water was clear, but the climbing apparatus for kids had significant tears in the padding that could be dangerous. The pool was in need of cleaning as well. The entry to the river was very dangerous without a good place to get in. The room walls were in need of repainting--you could see the marks where pictures had been hanging but were taken down. Overall, this was disappointing to us. While we had a good time with family, it would have been better if the resort was in better condition and more family friendly.

*‼️FYI/PSA/WARNING‼️* I'm doing this review to warn others, so that what happened to my family, doesn't happen to anyone else! This all could've been prevented if only The Summit office employee named Cheryl, or the other man that aired up our tubes and drove the shuttle bus had forewarned us before we started our float!! First, I was previously told over the phone by the manager there was a 2-3 hr short float or a 5-6 hr long float. My family chose to do the short float, so we filled out the forms given to us by Cheryl and waited for the man to air up our tubes. While waiting, my husband specifically asked the tube/shuttle man if there was anything we needed to know before our float. He said, "No, just get in and float." What he did mention on his own was that the float would be an hour and 40 minutes that day because of the flow of the river. We were bummed about that and probably would've chosen the long float, but figured it was too late to change anything at that point. Twenty or so minutes into our float, we hear the sound of loud rushing water. It was weird though because we couldn't see any rapids ahead. As we get closer, we see why we didn't see any rapids, because it was a literal straight downward 3ft DROP onto solid rock!!! Before we know it, three out of my five family members got flipped out of their tubes and onto the rock! My husband hurt his foot and shoulder, and my sister had the worst injury, which was to her head. She came up saying she hit the rock hard, and had a large knot the size of a baseball!!😔 When my son-in-law was helping her get back in her tube, he lost his tube down river..while we're all freaking out that she may have a concussion or traumatic brain injury! Luckily, a kind man grabbed my son-in-laws tube and asked if we heard him say to go to the LEFT of the river. We didn't hear him because our radio was turned up, and afterwards we noticed that the other tubers were going to the left of the river because there was a 3ft section that was not a drop off and you could safely proceed down river. Guess they weren't first timers like us! WHY weren't we forewarned of this danger by Summit employees that could've very well killed someone?! The man also told us that he's been floating the river for 40 years and if we had gone to the right, our legs would have been cut up by rebar!!😠Again, why weren't we informed of the dangers in that one area!! So after all that, we continue down the river, until we come upon a couple on a swing that asks us if we are with Summit. We say yes and they say, you were supposed to get off back there!🤦‍♀️So my family, along with the other people on our shuttle, quickly get out of our tubes and start swimming to get out! They didn't know we needed to get out either! It had literally only been one hour, so we weren't looking for any signs that let us know we were supposed to get out there! So we paid $60 per couple for a one hr float..and it would've been even less time than that, had we not almost been killed prior to that! And last but not least, SUMMIT DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN, because our shuttle group of 15 weren't even told that the Summit shuttle wouldn't return to pick us all up along with our tubes!! So we're all waiting and standing there in disbelief of that fact! Did Cheryl in the office mention to us that we could have parked our vehicles at the cabins instead of way up at the Summit office parking lot?! NOPE she sure didn't! I will never again use Summit if we ever float the Guadalupe again..or recommend them to anyone! DO BETTER SUMMIT EMPLOYEES! The least y'all could do, is forewarn other first timers to GO LEFT and not to stay in the middle, in that one area!! The bare minimum service is what we got, and we learned our lesson the hard way..but never again!👎
