Wedding at Asbury Hotel
I recently had my wedding at The Asbury Hotel on September 6, 2026, and unfortunately, I have to give my overall experience 1 star, primarily because of the food quality and food service. I do want to begin by recognizing Melanie, who was truly a lifesaver on my wedding day. I cannot say enough positive things about her. If it were not for Melanie, my wedding day coordinator would not have been able to finish setting everything up. From what my coordinator experienced, there was not a crew assisting with setup—it was Melanie helping and doing everything she could. I sincerely commend her for her hard work, professionalism, and willingness to step in. She deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the food and service were an entirely different experience. To start, the passed beef appetizer was cold and had barely any steak on it. Dinner was even more upsetting. My steak was served stone cold. I asked for another meal and was given the halibut, but that was also cold and extremely dry. It was essentially inedible, so I did not get to enjoy my own wedding dinner. What made the situation worse was hearing afterward that I was not the only one. Multiple guests told me their meals were also served cold and that the fish was very dry. Some said they had to spread the sweet smashed potatoes over the fish just to make it easier to eat because they were hungry. One guest asked a waiter what other meal options were available because her food was cold like the other guests and according to my guest, the waiter did not seem to know and mentioned chicken fingers. I had also specifically requested an ice cream bar/station, but the presentation consisted of ice cream served in plastic cups. Coffee was served in paper cups. For a wedding reception, these presentation details were disappointing and did not reflect what I expected from the venue or the event we had planned. There are so many things a bride worries about leading up to her wedding, but I truly did not expect the quality and temperature of the food to be one of them. Good food was extremely important to me. After putting so much time, effort, and money into creating a beautiful day for our family and friends, it was embarrassing and disappointing to hear so many guests comment that their meals were cold or dry. I understand that with a semi-outdoor setting, a venue cannot completely control insects. However, food should be protected and timed appropriately, and guests should not be served meals that are cold or so dry that they struggle to eat them. I did my best to enjoy my wedding day despite these issues because it was still one of the most important days of my life. However, afterward I emailed the venue regarding my concerns and did not receive a written response or acknowledgment. I received a phone call the day after the wedding asking whether I wanted them to pay for my dinner, but that did not address the larger issue. This was not simply about my meal—it was about the experience of my guests and the quality of the food served at my wedding. For those reasons, based on my personal wedding experience, I would not recommend The Asbury Hotel as a wedding venue, particularly if food quality and food service are important to you. Unfortunately, the overall food and service experience overshadowed what should have been a much better experience. -M. Sierra-Rodriguez

The Asbury Hotel was an absolute dream venue for our wedding! From the moment we first met with Gina and Jenna, we were impressed by their quick communication, professional demeanor, and genuine enthusiasm for helping us plan our special day. Throughout the entire process, the Asbury staff - including Olga, Kim, and Melanie - were incredibly friendly, organized, and attentive to every detail. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day flowed seamlessly, allowing us to be fully present and in the moment rather than worrying about the little things. The venue itself was clean, modern, and beautifully appointed, providing the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We are so grateful to the entire Asbury team for their hospitality, passion, and care in making our wedding day truly unforgettable.
