    Essex & Sussex

We wanted the wedding to move. We got married on the beach, walked back for cocktail hour on the terrace, and then moved into the ballroom for dinner and dancing. Those spaces are all very different, which gave the night a natural progression without us having to manufacture one. The building itself does a lot of the work. You have the ocean and sand outside, the glass and terrace for cocktails, then this old-school ballroom once everyone comes in. We ended up having to shift the schedule a bit and appreciate Nichol for being so flexible and helpful when my bustle gave out. We were also a smaller wedding, and I worried a little beforehand about whether the ballroom would feel too large. It didn’t. Nichol and the team worked with the layout and staging so the room still felt full and alive. The food and beverage were part of the package, as was the cake, which somehow escaped our notice until embarrassingly late in the process. Every guest ended up getting a slice of the actual wedding cake we cut. I’ve been to plenty of weddings and I don’t think I’d ever seen that before.

The Essex & Sussex was the perfect venue for us!

Nichol the wedding coordinator went out of her way to make our day perfect! She and her staff attended to all the guests needs. I highly recommend booking them for your next affair. The ambience is gorgeous and you can't beat the view of the ocean.
