Nestled in the serene foothills of Southern Vermont’s Green Mountains, The Hermitage Inn welcomes guests with its unique brand of mountain elegance and inviting hospitality. An extensive renovation of the property and grounds has brought a luxury country resort, award-winning culinary team, and 5-star guest experience to the Deerfield Valley. The Hermitage Inn features luxurious guest rooms with views of Haystack Mountain, a private carriage house, upscale dining options, and a garden patio. Set on 112 acres, the property features a trout pond, apple orchards, private gardens, hiking and cross country ski trails and a covered bridge. James Beard Award Winning Chef Michael Schlow and his team have partnered with local producers to create the best dining experience in Southern Vermont. From private dinners for 10 in our Wine Cellar, to tented affairs for 200 on our lawn, let our culinary and events team indulge your guests with our unique brand of mountain elegance and hospitality.

We ADORE The Hermitage Inn!!!
We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about The Hermitage Inn and their wedding planners, Gina & Taylor. From start to finish, everything was exactly as we had imagined, and that is entirely thanks to their dedication and genuine care for making our day perfect. It's been almost 3 months and we're still absolutely obsessed with every moment and would not have changed a single thing. From our first call, Gina was so kind and informative and truly a joy to work with. She made the entire process feel effortless. She answered every question with thoughtfulness, and her advice throughout was invaluable. We were so grateful for her organization, calm presence, guidance, and the genuine care she showed us throughout the process. And the venue itself is stunning..the grounds, the inn, the food, the scenery, all of it. And The Hermitage Inn team executed every detail flawlessly. But what truly set our experience apart was how special and cared for we felt as a couple. Every single person there was just SO NICE! It didn't feel like just another wedding to them, it felt uniquely like our wedding, and the staff plus Gina & Taylor made sure it felt that way every step of the way. We feel so lucky that we got to have this experience. We are foodies, so on the food specifically...we still dream about it and our guests still talk about it. While not the big dinner, the housemade chips served at lunch alone are worth talking about. Overall, some of the best food we've had. We can't wait to go back. In fact, several guests have already booked their own stays at the Inn, and we look forward to doing the same. We will be talking about this day for many, many years to come. Not to sound cliché, but truly, if you're looking for a venue where the team genuinely makes you feel special and goes well above and beyond, book at The Hermitage Inn.

From the moment we booked The Hermitage Inn nearly two years before our wedding, we knew we had made the right decision—but somehow, our experience still exceeded every expectation we had. Planning a wedding from out of state can be overwhelming, but the entire process was completely seamless from beginning to end. Every question was answered promptly, every detail was thoughtfully considered, and we always felt like we were in the absolute best hands. The biggest reason for that is Gina Whalen. There truly aren't enough words to express how incredible she is. Gina is, without a doubt, one of the most talented, organized, kind, and genuine event coordinators we have ever met. She made us feel like we were her only couple, despite knowing how many weddings she manages. Her communication was exceptional, her attention to detail was unmatched, and her calm, reassuring presence made the entire planning process enjoyable instead of stressful. Every single promise she made was fulfilled—and then some. She anticipated needs before we even realized we had them and made sure every detail was absolutely perfect. Our entire wedding weekend was nothing short of magical. The welcome party was the perfect way to kick off the celebrations, and the staff went above and beyond to make our family and friends feel welcomed and cared for. Then came the wedding day—and we were completely blown away. Every member of the Hermitage team worked so hard behind the scenes to create a day that was effortless, beautiful, and unforgettable. The venue itself is breathtaking. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the mountain backdrop is stunning, and every space feels elegant while still being warm and inviting. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was, how incredible the food was, and how smoothly the entire weekend flowed. We heard over and over again that it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. One of the things we appreciated most was how genuinely invested everyone at The Hermitage Inn was in making our wedding special. It never felt transactional—it felt personal. Our wedding at The Hermitage Inn was everything we dreamed of and more. From the moment we booked, Gina and Taylor were incredible to work with. They were so responsive, thoughtful, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Planning a destination wedding from New York could have felt overwhelming, but they made the entire process feel seamless. They truly took the time to understand our vision and brought every detail to life. The wine cellar was transformed into the most beautiful, intimate setting for our dinner, and it was everything we imagined and more. The tasting menu was an unforgettable experience and one of the many reasons choosing a micro wedding felt so special. Every course was thoughtfully prepared, and our guests are still talking about the incredible food and service. Our wedding!
We cannot say enough amazing things about how amazing our wedding was here!!!! Gina, our wedding planner made the entire planning process feel seamless and stress-free, and the wedding day itself was absolutely perfect. Any questions, concerns or changes I had, Gina accommodated immediately. There was never a moment where we felt worried or overwhelmed! Everything was handled with such care, professionalism, and attention to detail. We were SO lucky to have Gina! The entire team was incredible to us, and we still talk about how wonderful the staff was, especially our personal waiter (I can’t remember her name I’m so sorry), who went above and beyond all night. We felt so taken care of and genuinely supported, which made the day even more special. And the food was incredible! If I could plan this day all over again, I wouldn’t change a single thing.

The entire staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and completely on top of things. They handled food sensitivities and allergies with such ease that it gave us total peace of mind. I honestly didn’t realize a wedding could happen without a single hitch, but this team pulled it off flawlessly. I can’t think of one thing they missed. The venue itself was stunning, and we largely gave the planners creative freedom with the room setup. That trust paid off—the space looked beautiful in a way that felt effortless and perfectly aligned with our style. The food, the service, every interaction with every staff member… all impeccable. Truly, chef’s kiss, no notes. This venue is worth every cent, and if we had to choose all over again, we wouldn’t consider anywhere else.
