For over 150 years, Timmer's Resort has sat on the shores of Big Cedar Lake in West Bend, Wisconsin — a classic Wisconsin supper club with some of the best lake views around. The original stone fireplace in our Main Dining Room has warmed guests for generations, while Beryl's Parlor offers its own fireplace and a cozier bar setting for smaller gatherings. We give hosts real flexibility: an intimate rehearsal dinner or shower in Beryl's Parlor, a full seated dinner and dancing in our main event space, or a lakefront celebration across our lawns and patio for something bigger — scaling from a small ceremony to a full-property buyout.     Our Wedding at Timmer’s

    Big Cedar Lake is a very important place to my husband’s family, as they have had their family cottage on the lake for decades. When it came time to plan our wedding we couldn’t think of a better place to get married than the lake and Timmer’s Resort was the perfect spot. The restaurant and property is beautiful and the lawn going down to the lake is perfect for an outdoor event. Allison was our event manager at Timmer’s and she was absolutely the best. She was so helpful and thoughtful through the whole planning process and was always available to answer questions or figure something out. She made sure our timeline was so detailed and perfect and it really made such a difference. The Parlor Room was the perfect space for our hair and makeup team and all the girls to get ready, it’s a beautiful space in the restaurant and we even did my first look with the girls in front of the fireplace. Then from our ceremony through cocktail hour and reception, Allison and her team were there and making sure everything went the way it needed to. And we got nothing but compliments from our guests on how good the food and cocktails were! Our wedding was exactly what we dreamed and hoped it would be, we are so grateful to the entire team at Timmer’s!

    We went here for the first time on a Friday night and we were just blown away by the service, the food, and how cool and homey this place is. It started with the hostess opening the door for us when we arrived - such a nice gesture. We were immediately led to a table in the bar area which is where I requested to sit. We each had brandy Old Fashioneds served in the traditional style and the perch fish fry with potato pancakes. It was absolutely delicious - right up there with the best perch fish frys that I've ever had. Our waitress, Michelle, was excellent - informative, helpful, and very attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. Don't hesitate to have a little stroll down to the lake. It's a lovely property. We will be back.

    Wonderful experience at Timmer’s! Our waitress, Sophie, was fantastic. She noticed I needed gluten-free and took it upon herself to double-check that my filet was prepared safely gluten-free, even though it was labeled gluten-free on the menu. Her attention to detail meant so much! The filet was delicious, and we’ll definitely be back.

Larger weddings: A full venue buyout is often the best option, providing exclusive access to the entire property for the day.
Yes, this is an option based on the date and the restaurant's availability. What a buyout means is that our entire property (indoors and the lawn) is yours for your wedding date. We will be closed to the public that date with no regular dinner reservations allowed. Buyouts are a great option for medium to large weddings, so you have plenty of space, and our attention is focused on you all day.
Yes, our guests are very respectful when they see that a wedding is going on. We keep you and your guests in your separate spot (such as a tent on the lawn) to give you privacy to enjoy your day. We encourage guests that are having their ceremony and reception at Timmer's to have the ceremony before we open for dinner service at 4:00pm. By hosting your wedding ceremony around 2:00pm before we begin setting up at 3:00pm for dinner service, you will have the highest amount of privacy for the most intimate part of your wedding before other people are onsite.
No. As a full-service restaurant and venue, all food and beverage must be prepared and served by Timmer's Resort. The only exception is specialty cakes from a licensed bakery for weddings or milestone celebrations.
Start times are flexible depending on the day, season, and space reserved. Early afternoon ceremonies are common, especially for weddings. Our event staff will help determine the best timeline based on your plans and overall event flow.
Events conclude at 11:00pm. Last call for drinks is at 10:30pm, and all music must end by 11:00pm in accordance with the Big Cedar Lake noise ordinance.
Our event staff will review your rental needs with you and determine quantities based on your guest count, layout, and overall event vision. Once selections are finalized, our team coordinates directly with trusted rental partners to place and manage the order in advance of your event. Rental details are itemized and included in your event billing. We oversee all rental logistics to ensure proper delivery, setup, and removal so everything runs smoothly. A labor fee applies for the coordination and setup of rental equipment. However, Guests can inquire about doing the rental equipment setup on their own to decrease or eliminate this labor fee.
‍We coordinate rentals directly with trusted rental partners. For florists, photographers, officiants, decorators, and other vendors, you are welcome to work with whomever you choose. If you need recommendations, our event staff can provide a list of vendors we've worked with previously.
