We're getting married!

The Allimir story begins on the hot day of August 12, 2023, when a young man decided to wear jorts — that fit like leggings — on the first date with a phenomenal woman at Bacari in Silverlake, a neighborhood of Los Angeles. The woman, Allison Runes, forgave the fashion faux paus. The man, Amir Vera, was just thankful to be in her presence. There were some first date jitters, but this wasn’t their first meeting. The couple-to-be had matched previously on Hinge, had that initial phone call — “What are you looking for?” and “Oh, you like to karaoke, too?” — and a FaceTime convo full of so much laughter, their stomachs hurt. The virtual meets all led to the first date that saw Allison feeling naturally comfortable and safe with Amir, who ended up telling close friends just “how different” this date was and how excited he was to see her again. Second dates led to third dates and introductions to friends and family and, ultimately, to Amir telling Allison over pizza one night in November 2023: “I — I just w-wanna le-let you know I’m not talking to anyone any — anymore.” To which Allison replied confidently: “Neither am I.” Years of nonstop laughter, travels around the globe and the building of an unbreakable love followed — all leading up to February 7, 2026, when Amir asked for Allison’s hand in marriage. And, much like that first date, he was thankful to be in her presence as she said yes. Friends and family will tell you these two fit together like a hand on a glove, that Allison is the Amir of her group and vice versa. What made this work, though, was years of each working on themselves, discerning while dating and, above all, having faith that God would lead them to one another. As two families and worlds become one, Allison and Amir are beyond thankful for each and every person who has helped them along the way — because everything each has gone through has led them to one another. Allison and Amir, or Allimir for short, look forward to celebrating their love and continuing their story on April 2, 2027, in the presence of all those who helped make this possible.
