5.0

Just outside of downtown Tampa sits The Orlo, a private social club housed within the historic Spafford House and ballroom. Orlo J. Spafford, the president of the Tampa National Bank, built the Orlo in 1896 to share with his son and his family. In 1922 the Orlo was sold to the Tampa Women’s Club where the addition of a ballroom was made to host formal parties and extravagant dances. This historical ballroom still stands today and is ready to host your next party or extravaganza. Some of our favorite features are our gorgeous bridal suite on the second floor. It has so much natural lighting (a photographers dream) and large enough for you and your bridal party to get ready on your wedding morning! The Orlo has been restored and still has the original wood floors, chandeliers, and grand staircase. It is the perfect blank slate for your wedding or event!

FAQs about small wedding venues in Tampa, FL

According to the Zola Wedding Cost Index, couples planning a 100-guest wedding in Tampa can expect a total budget of around $25,200 to $37,800, with venue costs typically ranging from $4,000 to $6,000. Based on Zola marketplace data, small wedding venues in Tampa have a median starting price of $5,500, with most venues ranging from $3,500 to $9,000. Beyond the venue itself, your budget should account for:

  • Catering: around $4,000 for 100 guests
  • Photography: around $2,600
  • Bar services: around $3,200

For smaller celebrations, a 50-guest wedding typically costs around $15,300 to $22,900 total, with venue pricing from $2,200 to $3,300.

Tampa's small wedding venues fall into two main capacity tiers based on Zola marketplace data. Medium-sized venues accommodate 51 to 150 guests and start from around $8,100, making them ideal for couples planning an intimate celebration without sacrificing space. These venues work well if you're planning for 80 guests (around $21,200 to $31,800 total budget) or 120 guests (around $28,900 to $43,400 total budget).

The majority of Tampa's small venues—18 in total—are actually classified as large capacity (150+ guests) but offer flexible spaces starting from around $5,300, allowing you to host smaller gatherings in grand settings. For a 150-guest wedding, you'd typically budget around $34,500 to $51,800 total, with venue costs from $5,700 to $8,500.

Downtown Tampa and surrounding neighborhoods offer several distinctive settings for intimate weddings. Ybor City brings historic charm with its brick-lined streets and century-old architecture, creating an authentic Tampa backdrop for couples who want character and walkability. The Tampa Firefighter's Museum, rated 5.0 out of 5 with 4 reviews and starting at $3,500, exemplifies this historic appeal with its unique venue space.

Channelside and the adjacent waterfront areas provide modern venues with Tampa Bay views, perfect for couples who want that Florida waterfront feel without leaving the city. Hyde Park and South Tampa offer more residential elegance with tree-lined streets and convenient access to downtown, appealing to couples seeking a sophisticated neighborhood setting minutes from Tampa's core.

Based on Zola marketplace data, these top-rated venues stand out for intimate celebrations:

The Hall at NetPark earns a perfect 5.0 out of 5 rating from 6 reviews. One couple raved: "Everything you need in a venue is all here! Space, luxurious, amazing decoration choices and colors."

Hunter's Green Country Club also holds a 5.0 rating across 5 reviews, with guests noting the seamless coordination: "The event went smoothly and the venue is absolutely stunning! Zoe Cross the Event Sales Director worked with us every..."

Tampa Firefighter's Museum combines perfect 5.0 ratings with accessible pricing starting at $3,500, with one couple calling it "an exceptional wedding venue that exceeded our expectations in every way."

Outside catering policies vary widely among Tampa's small wedding venues, so this should be one of your first questions during venue tours. Some historic venues like the Tampa Firefighter's Museum may offer more flexibility with outside vendors, while country clubs and full-service venues typically require you to use their in-house catering teams. Given Tampa's warm climate year-round, venues with kitchen facilities are especially valuable if you're considering outside catering—you'll want proper refrigeration and prep space for food safety.

Many Tampa venues that allow outside catering will still require licensed and insured caterers, and some impose a venue fee or minimum spend requirement to offset the lost catering revenue. BYOB policies are similarly venue-specific, though some historic and industrial spaces in Ybor City tend to be more lenient. Always ask about corkage fees, which can run $15 to $35 per bottle in the Tampa area.

Many small wedding venues offer flexible catering policies, though it varies significantly by venue type. Private estates, art galleries, and community spaces often allow you to bring your own caterer or alcohol, which can help you control costs and personalize your menu. However, restaurants, wineries, and all-inclusive venues typically require you to use their in-house catering services.

When evaluating catering flexibility, ask about corkage fees (usually around $15-$35, according to the Zola Wedding Cost Index per bottle), outside vendor fees, and kitchen access. Some venues that prohibit outside catering may still allow you to bring your own wine or beer with a fee. According to Zola marketplace data across 944 small venues, the median starting price is around $4,000, but venues with full catering flexibility often have higher minimums to offset lost food and beverage revenue. Always clarify minimum spend requirements upfront, as they can range from a few thousand dollars on weekdays to significantly more on peak weekend dates.
