Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, our meeting house was constructed in 1930 during the administration of the Quaker president, Herbert Hoover. It was built to serve as a house of worship and a gathering place for those wanting to “seek peace and pursue it.” The building was enlarged in 1950. In 1970, we acquired the red brick Quaker House, Carriage House and garden at 2121 Decatur Place NW. Built in the 1920s and also on the National Register, these buildings today house a number of nonprofit organizations and small businesses as well as additional event spaces. With multiple interior spaces and gardens, we can accommodate events of various sizes and layouts, from 2 to 300. We host individuals, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities. Our event rental prices are affordable, with discounts offered to non-profit organizations in alignment with our values. Whether you are planning a wedding, celebration, a corporate meeting, we can accommodate you.

Indoor venues give Washington couples complete control over their wedding day, regardless of the District's unpredictable weather. Summer can bring intense heat and humidity, while winter often delivers cold rain or occasional snow—indoor spaces provide climate-controlled comfort year-round. You'll also gain access to built-in amenities like commercial kitchens, sound systems, and elegant lighting that outdoor venues can't match. Many of Washington's indoor venues occupy historic or architecturally significant buildings throughout Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and Capitol Hill, offering instant ambiance without extensive decoration. This becomes especially valuable during the spring and fall wedding rush, when outdoor dates book quickly but rain remains a concern. Indoor venues also simplify logistics: no tent rentals, no weather contingency plans, and no last-minute guest notifications. With 24 indoor venues on Zola starting from $3,000, you'll find options across every neighborhood and budget tier.
Indoor wedding venues eliminate weather uncertainty entirely, giving you complete control over your celebration regardless of the season. You won't need to worry about rain, extreme heat, humidity, or unexpected cold snaps that could affect your guests' comfort or your timeline.
Temperature control is one of the biggest practical benefits—your venue will maintain a consistent, comfortable environment from cocktail hour through the last dance. This means your makeup stays fresh, guests stay comfortable, and you can wear any dress style without seasonal limitations.
Indoor venues also protect your décor investment. Centerpieces, florals, and lighting designs won't be affected by wind or moisture, and you won't need backup plans for outdoor elements. According to Zola marketplace data across 100 venues in 5 US cities, indoor venues have a median starting price of around $4,200, which is about 6% higher than the overall venue median but includes built-in climate protection that can save money on rentals like tents or heaters.
