Just outside of downtown Tampa sits The Orlo, a private social club housed within the historic Spafford House and ballroom. Orlo J. Spafford, the president of the Tampa National Bank, built the Orlo in 1896 to share with his son and his family. In 1922 the Orlo was sold to the Tampa Women’s Club where the addition of a ballroom was made to host formal parties and extravagant dances. This historical ballroom still stands today and is ready to host your next party or extravaganza. Some of our favorite features are our gorgeous bridal suite on the second floor. It has so much natural lighting (a photographers dream) and large enough for you and your bridal party to get ready on your wedding morning! The Orlo has been restored and still has the original wood floors, chandeliers, and grand staircase. It is the perfect blank slate for your wedding or event!

Tampa's year-round warm climate opens up smart savings opportunities other cities can't match. Book your wedding during the hot, humid summer months (June through September) when many couples avoid outdoor celebrations—venues often discount rates significantly during this off-peak season. Consider neighborhoods like Westchase or areas near Lettuce Lake Park rather than premium waterfront locations in Hyde Park or Channelside, where you'll find the same quality spaces at lower price points. Many Tampa venues offer package deals that bundle catering, tables, and chairs into one rate, which can save 15-20% compared to piecing services together separately. Friday evening or Sunday afternoon weddings typically cost less than Saturdays, and Tampa's mild winters make January and February surprisingly popular for budget-conscious couples. Look for venues that include setup and breakdown in their base price, eliminating extra labor fees that can add $500 or more to your final bill.
Choosing an affordable venue can significantly reduce your wedding budget. According to Zola marketplace data across 1,105 affordable venues in 50 US cities, the median starting price is around $2,500 — that's about 38% lower than the overall median venue starting price of around $4,000. This savings can free up funds for other priorities like catering upgrades, photography, or your honeymoon.
To maximize savings at affordable venues, consider these strategies:
- Book during off-peak months like January, February, or November when venues often offer lower rates
- Choose Friday or Sunday instead of Saturday for potential discounts
- Look for venues that allow outside catering or provide tables and chairs in their base price
- Ask about weekday rates, which can be substantially lower
Many couples find that affordable venues in the middle 50% price range fall between around $1,300 and $3,800 to start.
Most couples in Tampa book their wedding venues 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season from October through May when the weather is ideal. Tampa's waterfront and garden venues are particularly in-demand during these cooler months, and popular weekend dates can fill up quickly. If you're planning a winter wedding to take advantage of Tampa's mild climate, consider starting your venue search even earlier—around 18 to 24 months out. Summer weddings (June through September) offer more flexibility due to heat and humidity, so you may find availability with 9 to 12 months' notice. According to the Zola Wedding Cost Index, venue costs for 100 guests in Tampa typically range from around $4,000 to $6,000. Popular neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Channelside book especially fast during February and March.
Tampa offers diverse neighborhoods that each bring unique character to weddings. Ybor City is known for its historic charm with brick-lined streets and vintage architecture, perfect for couples wanting an urban, artsy vibe. Hyde Park features elegant, upscale venues surrounded by tree-lined streets and boutique shops, appealing to couples seeking classic sophistication. South Tampa provides easy access to waterfront locations along Tampa Bay with stunning sunset views. Channelside offers modern downtown venues with skyline views and proximity to the Tampa Riverwalk, ideal for contemporary celebrations. Westchase delivers suburban convenience with spacious facilities and ample parking. Based on Zola marketplace data, Tampa venues have a median starting price of around $6,300, with options ranging from about $3,500 to $10,000.
