If you’re reading this review, I suspect you’ve already seen photos of the absolutely stunning Laurel Falls property from the long-range mountain views to the cascading waterfalls to the rhododendron forest to the well-equipped historical lodge and cabins. You may also be aware that you get the entire 18-acre venue and its 4 cabins for three whole days. These pieces alone could easily win you over. What can’t be captured in the photos is the quality of service, thoughtfulness of design, ongoing support, depth of knowledge, and genuine kindness exuded by each member of the Laurel Falls staff. Trust me, when planning a wedding, these things are VERY important, especially when planning from afar. Jordan, the owner, gave my then-fiancé and I the history of the property then took us on a tour of the property (and even did the on-site hiking trail with us). As we visited each area of the property, he helped us envision how we might use it for various weekend festivities. A wedding at Laurel Falls meant a long weekend with our favorite people in a gorgeous place and time to relax and soak in the whole experience - not just a single night that flies by so fast you don’t remember it. Despite my indecisive nature and this being the only venue we’d visited, it felt right and we knew it was for us. From this point, Kristen, the Events Director, was our main contact. There aren’t words to describe how phenomenal this woman is. Kristen is always so kind, helpful, positive, AND she could answer literally any obscure question I had. I reached out to Kristen to ask her recommendation on the ceremony start time because I wanted to be mindful of how the sun would impact the temp and the lighting at our chosen ceremony site. I expected just a discussion, but she blew me away when she also sent me the LF Pinterest page along with the names and ceremony start times of featured former couples married our same month. When I wasn’t sure how to arrange the tables and where to put the DJ to maximize dancing, she gave me insights AND shared layouts from other couples with a similar guest count. These are just a couple examples of Kristen’s meticulousness and level of support every step of the way. The Laurel Falls team truly thought of everything to make the wedding experience easy and pleasant. With the setting, we knew the wedding festivities would be beautiful, but the magical, memorable weekend wouldn’t have existed without the LF team. We’d choose this place - and these people - over and over again!!

If I were to tell you my true feelings about Twisty Maple and event manager Jessie, you would probably think I'm obsessed and I would probably run out of characters. So read this review with the idea that I'm working on 50% capacity here. Twisty Maple was absolutely, positively the best venue my partner and I could have picked to host our family and friends for a wedding ceremony and celebration. It felt like a home away from home, not only because my family set up shop and stayed in the house for a week leading up to our wedding; but also because of the warmth and care that guests can feel built into every inch of the place. My partner and I chose Twisty as our venue as soon as we had a virtual call and tour with Jessie, before we had even seen the space in person. We we so immediately at ease with Jessie, who already felt like a family friend, and could tell that she cared deeply about the home and property. Jesse and the Twisty team genuinely want to share the space with folks, evidenced by a willingness to host atypical activities (I was at one point convinced I wanted an on-site smoker for a whole hog and Jessie was totally game) and offering of a garageful of event decor at no cost (including signage, bud vases, candle holders, baskets, barrels, and SO much more). Leading up to the big day, Jessie graciously offered her contact information to my and my partner's moms for any logistical questions related to the home rental, which helped enormously in saving time and stress. We were greeted by a welcome sign with the names of family members staying at the home and a thoughtful gift basket with goodies for my partner and I, including keepsake Twisty Maple mugs which are adorable. It was so great to have the space leading up to our event for family time and DIY-ing and resting. I am so grateful to Jessie for sharing Twisty Maple with my family and friends. The space will forever hold such a special space in my heart and I hope you, dear reader, have the opportunity to make unforgettable memories here too.

It has a wonderfully laid out yard and garden, perfect for pictures and cocktails with friends and family. The house is stunning. The spacious venue was perfect for our 99 person welcome party, and the staff was fantastic in helping us execute our special day. The beautiful space and great communication made our wedding day perfect. We highly recommend Highland Brewing Company as a wedding venue.

It has taken me way too long for me to write this review, especially considering the fact that I think about Mountain Brook Vineyard every single day. (I’m not kidding, not a day goes by where I don’t think about Rebecca, the team, and the wine!) My husband and I visited 22 venues in North Carolina alone (we called it a “Holy Matrimony Mega Tour”) As a sommelier, choosing a place that has stand-out wines and a local terroir was essential for me. Dave Coventry is absolutely slaying—no kidding, this is some of the best wine that the East Coast has to offer. Rebecca runs a very tight ship and is not messing around when it comes to planning what many consider to be the best day of their lives (and our wedding was absolutely the best day of our lives, thanks to Rebecca). She went above and beyond in her communication, collaboration, and incorporating romantic personal touches into everything she could. For example, she applied our wedding emblem into our wine tasting cards, which was such a lovely surprise. She got to know our family and friends by name (and remembered their favorite wines!) Everything was so special and well-thought out. Our wedding would not have been anything close to as iconic as it was without Mountainbrook Vineyard. Every time we gather with people who attended, we hear something along the lines of “your wedding was the best wedding I have EVER been to!!” We have to agree Choosing to have our wedding at Mountainbrook was truly one of the best choices my husband and I have ever made. It marked the beginning of the countless choices we will make as a married couple, and seriously gave us a feeling of confidence and assuredness—a few of the many unforeseen blessings that Mountainbrook bestowed on us and our relationship. To all future couples considering celebrating your love at Mountainbrook: congratulations, you have stumbled upon one of the most spectacular hidden gems that Western NC has to offer! If you are dreaming of getting married at a venue that is unique, beautiful, and sees and honors you for who you are, look no further, this is the place for you! Now go meet Rebecca and taste their wines!!

Henderson Acres is truly beyond anything we could’ve hoped for with our wedding venue. First their actual outdoor space and house is so beautiful it is straight out of a magazine- picture perfect. The decor and stone within the house is such an elevated look we were in awe of. They are constantly adding things to the space and not to add things you need to pay for but to offer plenty of things for you to enjoy to use during your day. For instance there was several items of decor we used from them that we decided day of to use and the flexibility of that is incredible. They have a reasonably priced furniture package that their venue staff helps set up on wedding day and they have a retractable tent in case of inclement weather. Next the staff is absolutely incredible. Seriously beyond kind, helpful, responsive, and authentically caring. Planning the wedding was a dream with them, and the staff the day of was beyond kind and helpful ensuring the day ran smoothly. An example, we had one guest who was in a wheelchair and had to have an uber come to the venue for pick up/drop off - the staff without being asked drove to the bottom of the driveway waited for the uber and personally escorted them to the top. That kind of hospitality was noticed by our guests who raved about their kindness. I could write about so many more amazing things this venue has to offer. We received countless (truly countless) compliments on this venue and the venue staff - from the beauty of the space to the kindness and authentic care everyone felt. Our photographer captured the day perfectly with such beauty and somehow you’re still amazed seeing the space in person. I think there is something special about a family owned business and this venue is a prime example of it! Without a doubt the best decision we made in our wedding planning was booking Henderson Acres after so much searching - couldn’t recommend more!!!!
