“I hired Dawn to be our day-of coordinator, but somewhere along the way, she became so much more than that.
From our very first conversations months before the wedding, I knew I was in incredibly capable hands. Dawn asked questions I didn’t even know I needed to be thinking about. Her experience shows in the way she understands the entire flow of a wedding day — what decisions need to be made, what details need to be considered, what could go wrong, and how all of those moving pieces need to come together.
But what made Dawn truly special was how much she cared about making sure our wedding still felt like ours. Throughout the planning process, she kept asking me, “What do you care about?” When plans changed or the timeline needed to be reworked, she always brought me back to that question. For me, two of those things were getting our sunset photos and actually having time to be present with my family. She reworked our timeline multiple times to protect those moments and make sure the things that mattered most to me didn’t get lost in everything else.
Dawn also became an incredible safe space for me. Weddings can come with emotions, family dynamics, tension and unexpected moments, and there were times when I simply needed someone I trusted to talk things through with. She was calm, reassuring, honest and always helped me figure out the next step.
Then, fairly late in the game, we asked Dawn to take on another pretty important job — officiating our wedding! She absolutely knocked it out of the park. She gave us so many options to help build a ceremony that felt right for us, from readings and poems to verses and thoughtful questions about our relationship. She took all of that and told our story in a way that was incredibly personal and specific to us. It never felt like a generic wedding ceremony with our names dropped into it. It felt like our story.
Our family loved her. Our wedding party loved her. The people helping us set up loved her. We did a lot of our wedding ourselves, and I trusted Dawn completely to take everything we had worked so hard on and run the show so that I could finally stop managing it and just be the bride.
I thought I was hiring a day-of coordinator. What I ended up with was an incredible coordinator, a beautiful officiant, a trusted sounding board and, genuinely, a new friend.
