I’m Jason, aka DJ JayStylez, owner of Jay Stylez Entertainment in the DMV. I mix live on turntables, not playlists, so I read the room and adjust in real time. Scratch DJ Academy trained, mentored by DJ Jazzy Jeff, with club nights at Echostage a top-ranked club worldwide and Aura Nightclub at Atlantis Bahamas. That skill goes into every wedding, corporate event, and private party across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Multicultural weddings are my specialty. Every set is built from scratch for your crowd, your cultures, your family I’m the DJ you talk to and the DJ who shows up. Goal every time: a dance floor that never clears.

    Best DJ I could have asked for!

    Jason was great throughout the whole process! He was great at communicating and making sure he had all of the songs that we wanted (and didn’t) throughout the night. He also did a great job at adjusting the songs played based off of what our guests responded well to so people were on the dance floor all the time which I loved!! He collected a bunch of photos from us and displayed them on a screen that’s built into his DJ booth (I don’t know what it’s called) and many guests came up to us to specifically tell us that they loved seeing our pictures of us and our relationship as well as pics of us growing up. It’s something I don’t even think of doing, but Jason offered and I’m so glad he did! He also set up a photo booth that was very popular. He was great at making sure that things that I needed were just taken care of and went out of his way to coordinate with my wedding planner and kept me in the loop which I appreciated. We had a ton of kids at our wedding and he did a great job at playing clean (and popular) music that wasn’t raunchy. If I have any other events I’ll be sure to book Jason and I’d highly recommend him to any of my friends and family!

    We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From the ceremony to the last song of the night, everything was handled professionally and seamlessly. The music selection was perfect, keeping the dance floor full all evening while also accommodating our requests and reading the crowd effortlessly. The transitions were smooth, the sound quality was excellent, and the MC services kept the reception organized without ever feeling overdone. Communication leading up to the wedding was easy, and they made sure every important moment—from our grand entrance to the first dance and final send-off—went exactly as planned. If you’re looking for a DJ who is reliable, professional, and knows how to create an unforgettable atmosphere, I highly recommend. They truly helped make our wedding day one to remember!

    Very Happy Customers!

    We are very happy with the service we received from Jay Stylez. We used him as a DJ for our daughter’s Quinceañera/ Sweet 16 birthday party. He engaged us early with regard to the schedule and the style of music and any special requests. He agreed to MC the event and gave our daughter every option she requested. He was committed to making sure the event was special. He did everything in his power to make it a memorable for the birthday girl and her guests. He planned ahead, he was early, dressed appropriately, actively engaged venue staff which made things so much easier for us. He engaged our guests regarding musical requests and to make the mood festive. Throughout the event he kept the energy level appropriate but upbeat. He kept the young folks and the old ones the dance floor. We had grandma and grandpa out there dancing with the great grandchildren. Finally, his price was reasonable. It was a fantastic event and we could not recommend Jay Stylez more highly.

    Very professional and turned my wedding reception up with very short notice! Would book again for future events!

I dress to the formality of your wedding, so I blend into your photos instead of standing out in them. Suit and tie for most receptions, tux for black tie, and something lighter for outdoor or destination weddings. I arrive in load-in clothes, then change before guests arrive so I'm looking sharp the moment doors open. If you have a color palette or dress code you'd like me to follow, let me know during planning.
I'm a turntablist. I mix live on Pioneer PLX-1000s all night, blending records in real time the way a musician plays a set, but with the entire catalog of recorded music available to me. Your guests hear the actual song they love, in the version they know, arriving at the exact moment the room is ready for it. That skill came from formal training at Scratch DJ Academy, mentorship from DJ Jazzy Jeff, and years in rooms like Echostage and Aura where a dead dance floor ends your night. Reading a crowd and adjusting on the fly is the craft, and it's what separates a performance from a playlist.
Yes, absolutely. We'll build your must-play and do-not-play lists ahead of time, and I work inside those all night. If a guest requests something that fits your vision and the room, I'll find the right moment for it. If it's on your do-not-play list or it's going to clear a full floor, I'll handle it gracefully so you never have to be the one saying no.
Yes. I cover ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, which means one person owns your sound all day and there's no dead air in between. Ceremony includes a separate speaker system, a lapel mic for your officiant, mics for readings, and live cues for your prelude, processional, and recessional. Cocktail hour gets a curated set at conversation volume that builds toward the reception.
Yes. Jay Stylez Entertainment is fully insured, and I'll provide a certificate of insurance naming your venue as additional insured whenever they need one. Send me your venue's requirements during planning and I'll take care of it.
Open format and blend-heavy. Afrobeats into hip hop into soul into Latin, all in one stretch, so a room full of different ages and tastes feels like one party. On the mic I'm a host, not a hype man: clean announcements, timeline on track, and the moment handed back to you. I come in with a set built for your crowd, but if the room wants something else at 10pm, I follow the room.
Minimum two hours before your first guest, and three to four for larger setups like ceremony plus reception in separate spaces, or when you've added the video booth or uplighting. Setup time is never counted against your contracted hours. I'll also coordinate load-in directly with your venue so you don't have to.
Yes. Uplighting, dance floor lighting, photo booth service with an attendant and prints, and a custom video DJ booth with a 65" screen that can run your monogram, names, photos, or live visuals all night. It turns the DJ setup into a design element instead of something you hide in the corner. Everything is available bundled or as an individual add-on.
Travel is included within 30 miles, which covers most of the DMV. Past that it's $200 per additional 30 miles. No setup or breakdown fees, ever: load-in, setup, teardown, and load-out are included in every package and never counted against your coverage hours.
