Great weddings are not built from a copy and paste playlist. They are built around the couple, their guests, and the moments everyone will remember long after the final song. I’m Jose, the owner and DJ behind Jose The DJ Events. Based in Norfolk, Virginia, I serve Hampton Roads, Williamsburg, and beyond with professional wedding DJ and MC services. From our first planning conversation through the last dance, I work directly with you to understand your vision, organize the details, and create a celebration that feels personal, polished, and completely your own.

When you book Jose The DJ Events, you work directly with me. I am your point of contact throughout planning and the DJ there on your wedding day. I take time to learn your vision, pronounce names correctly, organize the important details, coordinate the flow of your celebration, and read the room once the party begins. My goal is to give you more than great music. I want you to feel confident knowing the person you planned with is the same person behind the DJ booth bringing your wedding to life. I also believe in clear, transparent pricing so you can review your options upfront and decide what fits your celebration before reaching out.

    Jose was the most amazing DJ for my husband’s and my wedding! He worked closely with us through the process and making sure all of our details were perfect! On the day of he got there early and made sure everything went smoothly and adjusted quickly to last minute changes. With our wedding being a dry wedding I was worried people wouldn’t dance but Jose did a great job getting us on the dance floor. Working with Jose was easy and a lot of fun, we felt like friends instead of clients because of the personal relationship he values with his clients! We highly recommend Jose!

    If you want a PACKED dance floor all night — book Jose immediately! He DJ’d two of my daughters’ weddings and my vow renewal, and each event was unforgettable. The transitions were smooth, the music selection was on point, and he knew exactly how to keep guests of all ages dancing. Jose The DJ Events is owner-operated, so you work directly with me throughout the planning process. I take time to understand your vision, organize the important details, prepare your music and make sure your celebration feels personal rather than copied from another wedding. One DJ. One point of contact. One seamless experience. When you book me personally, you get me. If I am unavailable, I may offer a trusted DJ approved by me, with communication continuing through me until you are ready to meet them.
Yes. Your music preferences are an important part of the planning process. You will have access to an online planning portal where you can build your request list, identify the songs you definitely want played and list any songs you do not want played. I also discuss guest requests with you before the wedding so I know whether you want me to accept them. On the wedding day, I use your preferences as the foundation while reading the room and keeping the celebration moving.
Yes. Ceremony audio and cocktail hour music are included in The Wedding Day Experience and The Immersive Celebration Experience. I can provide separate sound for the ceremony, music for guest arrival and the processional, a wireless microphone for the officiant and music during cocktail hour. The Curated Reception Experience is reception only, but ceremony audio and cocktail hour music may be added when available.
Yes. Jose The DJ Events carries liability insurance and meets the insurance requirements of many venues. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, please let me know during the planning process so I can provide the necessary documentation before your wedding day.
I generally plan to arrive about two hours before services begin so I have enough time to load in, set up and test the equipment before guests arrive. The exact arrival time may depend on the venue, access instructions and the amount of equipment required. I coordinate these details in advance so the sound and lighting are ready before your celebration begins.
Yes. Uplighting and a digital photobooth are available as enhancements. Uplighting can add color and atmosphere throughout the room, while the digital photobooth gives guests a fun way to capture and share memories. Both are included in The Immersive Celebration Experience and may also be added to another wedding experience when available.
Travel within Hampton Roads and Williamsburg is included in my standard pricing. For events outside that area, travel fees and overnight accommodations may apply depending on the location, distance and event schedule. Any required costs will be explained before you receive a proposal so there are no surprises. Standard setup and breakdown are included in the selected wedding experience.
Your wedding date is officially reserved after the agreement is signed and the required 50 percent retainer is received. Before booking, we will discuss your plans, confirm availability and make sure the selected wedding experience fits what you need. Once booked, you will receive access to your planning portal and forms so we can begin organizing the details.
