Out of this push/pull mindset, a sweets/treats brand was envisioned that allowed for a "once-in-a-while" cheat day, because we all need a well-deserved reward every now and then. Made fresh to order in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Cheat Day Sweets is a locally owned and operated small business that strives for the perfect sweet creation, each and every bake. If we aren't confident in our own flavors, we don't make it. Only the best, most luxurious, delicious treats are worthy of OUR Cheat Day.

    Amazing Cakes

    Cheat Day Sweets was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding desserts. From the very first communication, Melissa was responsive, kind, and accommodating to all of our requests. The final results were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. Our guests raved about the quality and taste of the desserts, and we were thrilled with the value Cheat Day Sweets provided. We highly recommend them to any couple looking for a top-notch wedding sweets experience.

    Beauty only matched by deliciousness

    Working with Cheat Day Sweets was so much fun and a smash hit at the wedding! We had decided early on that we don't understand a traditional wedding cake, and making people watch us cut a cake was just one more thing. So, after discovering Cheat Day Sweet's Instagram, I knew they was the one to book for our dessert bar! I worked with Melissa to design the aesthetic and the menu, but to be completely honest, I was at a point where I was SO over planning and so overwhelmed I couldn't make any decisions (my now husband came home one day and asked if I wanted to go to the gym or do dinner first and I cried because I literally couldn't make another decision).     The best desserts!

    Melissa did an incredible job on the desserts for our wedding! These were honestly the best desserts I’ve ever had! She set up everything beautifully, was so easy to work with, responded quickly, and was very flexible. I’m so happy we decided to go with Cheat Day Sweets for our wedding day!

    We had the privilege of working with Cheat Day Sweets for our wedding desserts. From the very beginning, Melissa was professional, responsive, and genuinely excited to bring our vision to life. I briefly detailed the decor/color scheme, and we were so impressed with how everything turned out on the wedding day. On the big day, the dessert display was absolutely stunning - beautifully styled and perfectly matched to our theme, even more than we could’ve expected. Our guests couldn’t stop talking not only about the display/setup, but also about how delicious every single treat was. At the end of the night, there were only a handful of treats left!! What impressed me most was the attention to detail and the care she put into making sure her display was exactly what we were hoping for. She made the entire process stress-free, and we felt completely confident trusting Cheat Day Sweets with such an important part of our celebration. If you’re looking for a dessert vendor that not only has incredible desserts, but also takes time to understand and execute your wedding vision, I cannot recommend them enough. They helped make our wedding day even more special, and I’m so grateful!

    Cheat Day Sweets was absolutely wonderful to work with! From first reaching out, to booking, to the big day, Melissa was incredible along the whole way! She was super easy to get in contact with and would respond quickly to answer any and all questions/concerns! I only have great things to say about this business! All of our guests loved our dessert bar and Melissa was so sweet and even made us a to go box of all the dessert options! Highly recommend using Cheat Day Sweets, 10/10! ⭐️

We don’t offer traditional tiered cakes, but we do have special options for your cake-cutting moment: an 8" round, 3-layer cutting cake (semi-naked or white whipped cream with flowers or a topper), a sweet little mini cake for two that's just enough for the couple to share without leftovers, or a Rice Krispie treat “cake,” stacked and decorated like a cake but made entirely of chewy, gooey Krispies. Each pairs beautifully with your dessert table, and examples can be found in our photo gallery!
Yes, we require a $50 deposit to hold your date. This deposit is applied to your final balance and ensures your spot on our calendar is reserved.
We offer several options! You can pick up your order, choose delivery only, or add full setup. With setup, we use our displays, provide flavor cards, plates, napkins, silverware, to-go boxes, and return at night for cleanup. For a smaller fee, we can also set up on your displays only (no cleanup included).
We suggest choosing 4–8 flavors and planning for about 2–3 pieces per guest. The exact number depends on what you select. Guests may grab multiple cookies to try different flavors, while one cupcake or shooter is often plenty. A good variety usually means guests sample more, so we’ll help you find the right balance for your crowd.
We offer a gluten-free, dairy-free version of our brownies, chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, and chocolate chip cookies (with or without gluten-free Oreos). Please note: our kitchen is not allergen-certified. While we wash all tools between recipes, cross-contamination is possible.
