Chef Gina’s Bakeshop is a bakery devoted to producing high-quality desserts and cakes, based in Akron, Ohio. Owner and pastry chef Gina Giampietro is a passionate baker who strives to create cakes that bring joy to newlyweds. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The Culinary Institute of America and has worked in bakeries throughout New York and Ohio.

Best thing I ate all week
I had a destination wedding in Canton (at the Pro Football Hall of Fame). We were there for 6 days and our wedding cake was the best thing I ate all week. I had three pieces at my reception! Not to mention it was gluten-free and my guests didn't even know. There was barely any left to take home. The to-go style of cake tasting was a lot of fun. We made a trip over Christmas and picked up several flavors of cake and frosting. There was enough for us to share with both of our families. For 75 guests we did the largest two-tiered cake offered. The bottom layer was GF chocolate with toffee-coffee buttercream and cream cheese frosting. The top tier was GF lemon with strawberry buttercream. I sent Chef Gina some inspiration photos and she made exactly what I had in mind. It was our football teams' colors marbled into white buttercream. The only negative is that I don't live anywhere close to Ohio and I looked on our website to see if she ships to Los Angeles (I don't think so).

Best Wedding Choice!
Chef Gina was wonderful to work with for our wedding! From the consultation, to the tasting and wedding day, she handled everything with ease and great communication. We chose to have cake for half of our guests and then a dessert bar and it was a hit with all the variety of options. Everything was so delicious and worked out wonderfully. Would definitely work with Gina again.

So Good!
I can’t say enough good things about Chef Gina’s Bakeshop! From the beginning she was so easy to work with and very responsive. We had cupcakes, dessert shooters, and cake cops, along with a red velvet cake for us to cut. Our guests ate every last piece of dessert and raved about how good everything was!

Chef Gina's Bakeshop was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding cake. Gina was kind and extremely knowledgeable. She worked with us on our cake flavor and design as well as with gluten free cupcakes for a friend with Celiac. On the day of our wedding, Gina delivered the cake in perfect condition and decorated it beautifully with fresh flowers from our florist. Our guests raved about how incredible the cake tasted. The gluten-free cupcakes she also prepared for us were a hit! We are so grateful to Gina and her team for contributing to making our special day truly perfect.
