I got my start many years ago when I was living back home in Chicago, at a cute little bakery, that I still visit to this day! I went back and forth between working in graphic design to cooking and baking. I started working in the bakery at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center as a part-time line cook in 2013 and in 2015 a became their in-house cake designer. In 2019 I decided to leave my position at the hotel and opened Sugar Flower Cake Design. I love seeing the joy when my clients cut into their cake and take their first bite - it makes life much sweeter! - Jennifer Smith

I really like to give each couple of mine one on one attention, starting with the tasting consultation, designing their cake and working with a budget they have in mind; as well, setting up time to meet with them prior to their wedding to make sure that I have all their information and details in place. After all it's not just a cake, it's the last meal of their wedding and it has to be memorable!

Delivery is complimentary within a 1 hour drive and includes set up of your cake. Delivery charge applies to deliveries beyond a 1 hour drive.
Usually I suggest ordering based on the number of guests you will serve. This is something I discuss during a consultation.
Absolutely! When I work with my couples, I take the designs they are most attracted to and tailor them to their taste. This includes designing around their wedding colors, bridal florals, theme, lace patterns, or invitations. I use photographs as inspiration but I cannot create a carbon copy of another cake design since it was never my design to begin with.
I do not offer alternatives such as cupcakes, cookies, cake pops or other desserts.
