With a catering, one of your professional caterers will stay on site, set up the buffet table, replenish the food as it runs out, and cleans up the buffet table afterwards. With a drop-off, someone drops off the food and sets it out but DOES NOT stay on site
For drop-offs, yes there are and they depend on distance. There are possible travel fees associated with caterings when the distance is further away.
