Executive Chef

Chef John Alvarez, raised in the Bay Area, discovered his passion for cooking early, earning the nickname “tortilla boy” at 12 while working in his family’s restaurant. Training under Michelin-starred chefs like Michael Cimarusti, Michael Tusk, and Curtis Stone, he honed his expertise in seafood, fine dining, and butchery. Inspired by Chef Rick Bayless, John mastered modern Mexican cuisine at Leña Brava, specializing in moles, salsas, and wood-fire cooking. Today, he crafts personalized menus that celebrate diverse flavors and unforgettable dining experiences.

    Upsetting Experience

    Five Course Provision made getting answers feel impossible from start to finish. Despite this frustration, we have to admit the food and drinks at our wedding were excellent and guests raved about them. However, after the event, they took our rental items and the event rental company is now charging us for things they actually left the venue with at the end of the wedding. We gave them a month to fix the situation, but all we got was empty promises that everything would be handled. Do not use this company for your wedding, especially if you're planning your wedding ahead and expecting reliable communication and accountability.

    work party christmas event

    This co was expectational. They were very pro active and helpful and had very fast responses. They kept in touch and did a excellent job with setting up everything and they were kind and polite and i hope I get to plan a holiday party next year I will choose this Company again. The food was outstanding as well.

    FIVE COURSE IS INCREDIBLE TO WORK WITH

    Five Course Catering was absolutely incredible! They catered my private dinner on October 9 for 58 guests, and every detail was perfection, from the elegant setup to the flawless service and unforgettable food. The chef crafted an extraordinary five-course menu that was both creative and absolutely delicious, while Diana went above and beyond coordinating everything with such professionalism, warmth, and care. Their teamwork made the night seamless and truly special, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the dishes and the experience. I can’t recommend them enough; they turned our dinner into an unforgettable celebration!

    The most memorable meal

    We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Chef John and Diana for our wedding. From start to finish, they were incredibly easy to work with and really took the time to listen to our story, creating a tailored menu that beautifully reflected our different backgrounds. Their creativity shone through in every dish, and their entire team went above and beyond to make our day special. We heard endless comments about how great the meal was from all our guests. We're so grateful for all they did and how it all turned out.
