Lead Floral Designer

A Lily Among Thorns offers romantic and modern floral designs for the New York Metropolitan area. With our design studio located in Northern New Jersey, we can also happily extend our design services to Connecticut and Pennsylvania. We specialize in an organic and airy approach to floral design drawing inspiration from how stems naturally grow in nature. In our design approach, we lean towards intentional minimalism so we can focus on designs that truly resonate with our couples.

With an emphasis on color theory and principles of design, each wedding and event is designed intentionally while honoring seasonality. Our work is collaborative and curious as we work alongside Wedding Planners and Designers to execute a vision that is sentimental and original.

    Beauty Everywhere

    There was beauty everywhere we turned at our wedding weekend thanks to Isabel & her team at A Lily Among Thorns. Isabel and team brought a clear color palette and seasonal theme to our welcome drinks, ceremony, and reception. While her large arrangements were stunning (bar arrangements, chuppah florals, hanging greenery), a number of our favorite pieces were the details - our boutonniere, the flowers lining our ceremony aisle, and pin frog arrangements. Our guests raved about the flowers. Your will too!

    A Bride and Groom in Awe of Isabel

    Isabel has an insanely amazing eye and such a beautiful design style. We were both just in complete awe of her work! Every time we walked by a floral arrangement we felt like we had entered an alternate universe they were so beautiful! Our guests were also absolutely stunned by the florals, with so many commenting that it looked as though the flowers had bloomed right from the ground because of how seamlessly they complemented the natural flora and fauna of our venue. She took every idea we had in our heads and somehow made it 1000x better - the final result truly left us speechless. Throughout the planning process, she was also so communicative, organized, and incredibly helpful, always taking the time to walk us through the process and make sure we understood everything along the way. We couldn’t have been happier with how beautifully she brought our vision to life! Everytime I look back at our photos all I can think is “thank you Isabel!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    Isabel's biggest fan!

    Working with A Lily Among Thorns was a game-changer for our wedding day. Isabel took genuine time to understand the vision (even the highly-specific details I wasn't sure were possible) and brainstorm with me as a partner to bring that vision to life. She asked thoughtful questions and responded quickly to every concern. On the actual day, she went above and beyond to execute the arrangements with incredible attention to detail, transforming our flowers into something even better than we'd imagined. Yes! We offer a variety of candle rentals for an additional cost!
Yes, we offer breakdown services along with delivery, set up, and flower transfer from the ceremony to the reception.
Yes! After the contract is signed for full service weddings, we provide one mockup, typically a table centerpiece upon request for an additional cost. We prefer to create this between 30 and 60 days before the wedding to take into account seasonal flowers and time to make adjustments before the final proposal and vendor commitments are due. If you opt not to pay for an in person mockup, digital mockups are provided during our design meeting!
We have a $10,000 minimum for Full Service Custom design.
We offer nature inspired designs with an emphasis on locally and seasonally available flowers, greens and textures.
