Hi, I’m Sayoko, the florist behind Seedling Floral. I create whimsical, romantic wedding florals inspired by Oregon’s landscape and the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in the organic, imperfect, and unplanned. My designs are thoughtfully gathered and season-led. I work with couples planning everything from intimate micro-weddings and elopements to full-scale celebrations, always approaching each event with care, intention, and a deep appreciation for natural beauty.

My work is rooted in wabi-sabi, embracing movement, texture, and the quiet beauty of imperfection. Rather than rigid or overly styled designs, I create florals that feel effortless, personal, and connected to the season and setting. I thoughtfully repurpose florals throughout the day to create impact while staying intentional, and I love collaborating closely with couples to ensure their flowers not only look beautiful, but truly shape the feeling of their wedding day.

    Magical, magical florals

    Whimsy is sooo back! Working with Seedling Floral was one of those wedding decisions that I feel ridiculously lucky about. We booked her a year and a half before our wedding because I was so struck with the experimental arrangements on her website. I loved how unexpected, yet beautiful the flowers she used were. And thank god I booked with her! I’m not someone who knows flowers. I couldn’t have handed her a list of specific blooms or explained exactly what each arrangement should look like. What I could tell her was our story. I told her about growing up in Indonesia, about the lushness and color I associated with home, about our love of film, and about this slightly strange little world Jake and I had started calling “Cinema Tropicale.” I wanted fruit mixed into the tables, saturated reds and oranges and pinks, and florals that felt a little wild and experimental. Then I basically said: I trust you. What she did with that was beyond anything I could have designed myself. There were tiny details everywhere that made me stop and stare. Flowers branching from fruit, spilling and bending in ways that made the tables feel sculptural. The ceremony arch was enormous and lush without swallowing us. My bouquet looked like it had been gathered from the same world as everything else and somehow Sayoko intuited the colors yellow and red as special to me. We were just on the same wavelength. Even with so many colors and textures happening, it all felt cohesive and incredibly intentional. I also really appreciated that she understood I wasn’t looking for a Pinterest wedding. I wanted our wedding to feel specific to us, and she never tried to flatten the weirder ideas or make them more conventional. She took them seriously and then made them even more extraordinary. Seeing the flowers for the first time on our wedding day was genuinely emotional because I could see pieces of the story I’d told her reflected back at me. That takes a kind of creative intuition you can’t really teach. Seedling Floral has an unbelievable eye, and I would trust her creative instincts again in a heartbeat. I’m going to be thinking about those flowers for a very, very long time, and so many guests said they were the most memorable flowers they’d seen at a wedding!

    Seedling Floral? More like Superb Floral

    I cannot recommend Seedling Floral enough for all your floral needs! Sayoko created the most beautiful bridal bouquet and arrangements for our wedding. Everything felt so fresh, thoughtful, and intentional, and truly elevated the entire day!

    Sayoko has such an artistic eye, and definitely very experienced! She brought our clients vision to life and made it even better that we hoped!

I am in based in the Portland metro, but can cover all of Oregon and Washington. We have a Delivery/Breakdown fee of $200+mileage. This fee covers the delivery and careful handling of all florals to the venue, on-site placement and styling, and our team’s return after the event to remove, break down, and properly dispose of all floral elements. for events that are 2+ hours away, a travel fee may be included.
Yes! We also offer candles/glass in our design services for $12/candle & glass (ex. votive, hurricane)
