Welcome. Beauty by Thao is a wedding makeup and hairstyling service based in San Jose, California. Thao, the founder of the company, is a certified makeup artist that strives to create natural makeup aesthetics for brides on their wedding day. Thao services couples in San Jose and throughout the Bay Area. Thao is a certified makeup artist who provides beautiful wedding-day looks for her clients. She received her training in makeup artistry from the Make-up Designory. She has been in the bridal makeup/hair industry for over 5 years.

Beauty by Thao offers clients the opportunity to schedule a consultation, as well as a hair and makeup trial. During these initial meetings, brides can discuss their preferred makeup aesthetic and desired hairstyle with Thao. For the convenience of her clients, Thao is willing to travel to the wedding venue on the day of the event in order to accommodate on-site services. She can provide beauty applications for both brides and their wedding party members. Thao can provide a variety of hairstyling services, such as blowouts, updos, and textured hair styling. Amazing!
Thao made my wedding day so special. From the start, Thao was quick to respond to my questions and always followed through on what she promised. She showed up right on time and worked with such care that I never felt rushed. Every detail of my hair and make-up look came out perfect. I felt beautiful walking down the aisle, and that confidence meant everything to me. She also did my daughter’s hair and it turned out beautiful. I'd recommend Thao to any bride looking for someone who truly listens and delivers.

10/10 recommend for bridal hair and makeup
I can’t recommend Thao enough! She did hair and makeup for my 6 bridesmaids and 2 mothers on my wedding day, and she was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly fast and efficient at getting everyone ready on time, while still being very detail-oriented and making sure every person looked their absolute best. What I appreciated most was how she made everyone feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable. Each person had their own style and preferences, and Thao took the time to make sure everyone felt like the best version of themselves. She was professional, talented, organized, and such a calming presence on a busy wedding morning. Everyone looked gorgeous, and we received so many compliments! I’m so grateful to Thao for helping make such an important part of my wedding day so special. Highly recommend her to any bride looking for someone who can handle a larger bridal party with skill, speed, and incredible attention to detail!

Perfect hair & makeup artist!
Thao is an incredibly talented, warm, and professional artist. She was responsive with all my questions and reassuring with guiding me on the perfect looks for my hair and makeup. My trial was an absolute dream, where she was able to talk me through my inspiration pictures and help me gain confidence. As someone who doesn’t wear makeup at baseline, I was so moved by Thao’s compassion and shared goal in helping me feel my absolute best. On my wedding day, Thao and her two assistants (Thy and Quyen) were able to complete hair and makeup for myself, my 4 bridesmaids, my mother, and my sister-in-law - their team was wonderful and everyone looked incredible. Thao made me feel so calm and supported on what could be a stressful morning. My hair and makeup lasted for 11 hours, and I received waves of compliments from everyone about how stunning I looked - and most importantly, I felt like a beautiful, elevated version of myself, which Thao went above and beyond in achieving! I can’t thank Thao and her team enough for their expertise - highly recommend!!

Perfect makeup & hair!
Thao and Thy transformed me, my mom, and my entire bridal party for my big day! They ensured that our hair stayed curled for the entire day (impressive). Thao’s attention to detail was much appreciated for my wedding makeup look- she trimmed my hair to perfect the length and switched the type of lashes to fit the look. I cried A LOT the whole day but my makeup looked great at the end of the night! I am so thankful for Thao and Thy’s expertise.

Timelessly Beautiful
Working with Beauty By Thao was such a breath of fresh air. She communicated with me every step of the way, always clear and to the point, which made planning so much easier. On the day of the wedding, Thao kept me grounded when my nerves kicked in and even suggested some overnight skin prep tricks that made a real difference. Her work is incredibly detail-oriented and she has a real gift for making people of all skin tones and ages look and feel their best. She was flexible with exactly what I needed and adjusted things on the fly without any fuss. I'd absolutely recommend Beauty By Thao to any couple looking for someone who actually listens and delivers.
