    Sophia is the BEST bridal hair and makeup artist!

    Hair and Makeup by Sophia is INCREDIBLE!! I'm not a big make up wearer in day to day life, and Sophia was so great about helping me translate what I liked about the inspiration photos into what would work for my skin tone and type. She was transparent with every application step, and gave me lots of opportunity to review both the look and feel of the hair and make up. I felt so beautiful on both my trial day and my wedding day--like me, but enhanced! The hair and make up lasted all day and night, and Sophia put me completely at ease with how professional hair and makeup can look and feel. I felt like my outside glow matched the inner joy I felt to be celebrating such an important day! I wholeheartedly recommend Hair and Makeup by Sophia. She's the BEST choice you can make for your bridal hair and make up!!

    Made me feel beautiful!

    Sophia Velez did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better! I have Italian heritage (for context on my complexion) with dark brown loosely curly hair. My wedding was fairly small and I didn't have any bridesmaids, so I had her just do my own hair and makeup. She was incredibly gracious when I was running behind our planned start time, with me being a total slow poke on the day of the wedding. My wedding was also a destination wedding for me, so I had to do a bit of a leap of faith and skip having a trial session, but that turned out to not be an issue at all! I had a couple reference pics for my hair, and for my makeup I only gave the most vague preferences, yet she absolutely nailed it. The only thing I even specified was after the initial blush application, I saw it and mentioned putting some more blush closer to my usual blush placement, and with a wave of her magic wand (er, brush) it was done to perfection in two seconds. I had also never worn false lashes before but when she got them on me, I loved them! The whole time she was working on my hair and makeup, most of my family was hanging out in the hotel room having a bit of a pre-wedding party, and everyone thought Sophia was a delight. I'm so glad I went with Sophia for my wedding!

    Sopha went above and beyond!!

    I am so grateful I found Sophia!!! I knew immediately from our conversations over email that she was going to be a great fit. This was reaffirmed at my trial when she listened to me, and was able to combine all of my inspo pics into a hair and makeup reality that felt authentic to me. At the time of my trial, the only other time I had gotten my makeup done professionally for a wedding, I did not have a great experience. Sophia heard me out, took the time to work through my apprehensions, and helped me feel completely confident. I couldn't have loved how I looked more on my wedding day. Despite my wedding day being 90% humidity, my makeup lasted the entire night!!! My bridesmaids looked fantastic, and even with dancing all night, our hair looked perfect. Sophia is fun, kind, and patient. I couldn't recommend her more.

    Amazing HMU Artist - Highly Recommend!

    I highly recommend Hair and Makeup by Sophia, she was amazing to work with for my wedding! Through the planning process, Sophia was very detailed and transparent about the pricing, the day-of schedule, and the overall HMU process. Her thorough approach helped build my confidence as we tweaked details in our trials. Sophia brought a friendly, relaxed energy to the morning of the wedding as well! When it came time for myself, she tackled my bridal look with ease, and her confident execution calmed my nerves and brought even more excitement to my day. The hair and makeup easily lasted the entire day/night and looked amazing in person and in photos - I highly recommend her!

    Book Sophia for your next event! She is professional, communicative, listens and works with you to create the perfect look AND is super cool to hang out with on your wedding day. I don't wear makeup and never even blow dry my hair so I was super nervous about the hair and makeup process, feeling like it just didn't fit me. Sophia was very patient and reassuring. She knew exactly what to do to make me feel gorgeous and natural and like myself!
