    We had Natalie as our makeup artist from Makeup By Ginamarie for our wedding day and while the actual makeup application was good and I was happy with the final look, the overall experience was somewhat dampened at the start of the morning. From our first interactions, she made comments that made us feel like our bridal suite wasn't suitable for her to work in, which honestly dampened our excitement at the start of the morning. She never mentioned that she would be charging our room for valet parking, and we were surprised to see that fee on our bill at checkout since the travel fee was included in our contract. Our other vendors didn’t charge our room for valet for reference. Majority of the final looks were good and a lot of my girls and myself were satisfied, but communication and approach could have been better.

    Wedding Makeup

    I have nothing but stellar things to say about Gina and her team! Every girl was so happy with their look and felt so confident and beautiful for wedding day. She is so personable but also takes her craft seriously. 11/10 recommend!!

    Amazing!

    Ginamarie and her team were absolutely amazing! Everyone looked stunning, and our makeup lasted beautifully throughout the entire night. It photographed perfectly, and I truly felt like the most beautiful bride, all thanks to her incredible talent! She was so easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. Scheduling the trial was simple, and she made every adjustment I wanted on the wedding day effortlessly, creating a look that exceeded my expectations. Her professionalism, skill, and attention to detail made the entire experience so stress-free and enjoyable. I can’t recommend Ginamarie enough. She is talented, kind, and genuinely makes you feel beautiful from start to finish!

    I honestly don’t even have the words to do Gina justice. She is beyond talented. On my wedding day, she made me look and feel the most beautiful I’ve ever felt in my life. What blows me away is that I didn’t even do a trial with her — that’s how much trust I had after hearing such wonderful things. And she absolutely delivered. Gina has this incredible ability to really listen and understand what you’re looking for, even when you can’t fully put it into words. She was so patient with me and every tiny tweak or change I wanted to make, and she never made me feel rushed or like I was asking too much. She’s calm, kind, and just such a joy to be around — exactly the kind of energy you want on the morning of your wedding. When she finished my makeup and I saw myself in the mirror, I couldn’t believe it. I felt confident, radiant, and still completely me (just the most polished, glowing version). My makeup lasted all night through the tears, dancing, and hugs, and I didn’t have to touch it up once. If you want to feel your absolute best on your wedding day, book Gina. She’s not just a makeup artist — she’s a true magician. 10/10.

    Sadly not a good experience

    I have gone back and forth on writing this review, but it is an entire month later and I am still upset about my entire experience with Gina, so hopefully this review helps someone else. My MIL asked me the Saturday before the wedding if she could add on makeup (I recognize that is the most annoying thing to ask a vendor). However, I text Gina about it (took 24 hours to respond) and she said “Hi, what time do you have to be ready by? I have another artist helping because I have to leave at 10:30 because I had another wedding that one of my artists was on to do the bride and she just canceled on me.” I immediately called her because my contract was for her to do my makeup and all of my bridesmaids, plus I didn’t want my makeup finished that early and I didn’t want to feel like she was rushing to get all the way back to Philly to do two brides for that wedding. She didn’t answer my call and eventually called me back. She said their MUA canceled and they didn’t want someone who hadn’t touched their face before to do their wedding makeup (fair). She said she was trying to make everyone happy…. My issue is the absolute lack of professionalism to send that over text in response to my question (instead of calling me proactively) and not honoring our contract. I still wonder if I didn’t text her about my MIL, would she have even told me beforehand or would she have just shown up wedding day and been like sorry I’m leaving in 2 hours! Her “other artist” did my bridesmaids - which fine, I do understand that is how it often works, but because my bridal party was on the smaller side, Gina was contracted to do everyone, so it was incredibly unfair to not honor the contract. My bridesmaids didn’t tell me until after I got home from my honeymoon that her “other artist” had never met Gina before. She told them on the wedding day that was their first time meeting and working together (that would have shot me into orbit if I heard that on my wedding morning). I believe her phrasing “other artist” was purposefully misleading so I wouldn’t be upset. It was also very annoying that my MUA didn’t even stay for touch-ups (minor in the grand scheme of things, but still not ideal). Further, I didn’t have the best experience with my trial (perhaps that was foreshadowing). I was overall happy with the general look (I’m pale and the color match was great), but my skin close up looked HORRIBLE. It was separated and patchy and not how my makeup ever looks. Gina recommended I get a dermaplane facial for the wedding and that she would make it look “the best she could” come the wedding...I don’t operate in a world of “fine” so that was equally frustrating as it was not reassuring. Also, her studio had no natural light, just a ring light, so when I got out to my car I could see the makeup better and see how unblended my contour was. Naturally, I panicked and bought/tried/researched every foundation/primer under the sun (spent so much money). It all looked good on my skin with and without a dermaplane facial (nothing like hers looked at the trial). I ended up using the Estee Lauder Double Wear with the matching primer and it was amazing and lasted all night. So on top of it all, I didn’t love that the solution was buying/bringing my own makeup. I hate to write such a negative review, but this was my experience.
