Hi, I'm Melinda! I'm a wedding photographer serving DC, Virginia, Maryland, and beyond. My approach blends documentary-style storytelling with thoughtful direction, capturing everything from happy tears and stolen glances to the dance floor filled with your favorite people. I'll guide you when needed while giving you the freedom to be fully present and enjoy your day. Outside of photography, you'll find me with my husband and our Vizsla, Maverick, traveling, golfing, or enjoying a cozy night at home. I believe the best photographs begin with genuine connections. By your wedding day, I want you to feel like you have a friend in your corner who genuinely cares about your story. 🤍

    Beautiful experience

    Melinda photographed our engagement shoot. I chose Melinda because I was immediately drawn to her style of photography. She is patient, kind, and incredibly professional. She guided my now-husband and me through each pose and made sure we always felt comfortable. My husband is usually the most awkward person, especially around strangers, but he felt completely at ease in front of the camera thanks to Melinda. She created such a relaxed, effortless atmosphere that we almost forgot we were being photographed, so every kiss and smile felt genuine and natural. Thank you so much Melinda!

    Amazing Experience

    MELINDA IS AMAZING!!!

    Melinda was an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire process. We first met her for our engagement photos, which gave us the chance to get to know her and feel more comfortable together before the big day. By the time our wedding arrived, it was clear that her vision perfectly aligned with everything we had hoped for—it was truly perfect. Melinda (and her day of team) were incredibly professional, warm, and wonderful with all of our guests. We honestly can’t imagine our day without her.     So amazing!

    Melinda is incredible! We were able to do an engagement session which allowed us to work together and get an idea of each other’s likes and preferences which made the wedding day flow so nicely. Our sneak peak photos from our wedding are INCREDIBLE! We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

    Great Experience

    We have loved working with Melinda! She has done our engagement pictures and is booked for our wedding later this year. Melinda was able to put my fiance at ease during our session and the pictures turned out great. She was also super patient with our puppy who is never good at sitting still.

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Absolutely! Depending on the collection you select, a second photographer may be included or added to your coverage. Having an additional photographer allows us to capture different perspectives throughout your celebration, especially during getting ready, your ceremony, and those wonderful candid interactions happening simultaneously.
Yes! Every image included in your final gallery is individually reviewed and professionally edited to reflect my signature bright, natural, and timeless style. I carefully curate your gallery to tell the story of your wedding day, from the meaningful details to the candid interactions and everything in between.
I know how exciting it is to relive your wedding day! You'll receive a sneak peek shortly after your celebration, with your complete, professionally edited wedding gallery delivered within 12 weeks. Every photograph is thoughtfully selected and edited so you can enjoy your memories for years to come.
While I've never had to cancel a wedding booking, I understand how important peace of mind is when planning your celebration. In the unlikely event that an emergency prevents me from attending, I will make every reasonable effort to help secure a qualified replacement photographer through my professional network, in accordance with our signed agreement.
You can expect about 60 to 80 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
Of course! You're not expected to figure everything out on your own. I'll work with you to create a photography timeline that accounts for the important parts of your celebration while allowing room to actually enjoy your wedding day. We'll discuss everything from getting ready and your first look to family portraits and sunset photographs.
More than okay! Most of my couples tell me this before their session. My approach is relaxed and guided, so you'll never be left wondering what to do with your hands. I'll give you gentle direction when needed while encouraging you to interact naturally with one another. Your complimentary engagement session is also a wonderful opportunity for us to get comfortable working together before the wedding!
Absolutely, and I encourage it! While social media and portfolios are wonderful for getting a feel for a photographer's style, a full wedding gallery gives you a much better understanding of how your entire celebration will be documented. I'm always happy to share examples of complete wedding galleries so you can see my work across different lighting situations and throughout the day.
