Over these past 7 years, I've learned that photography isn't just about taking pictures, it's about the laughter, love, and tears of the in between... the raw, unfiltered human experience. To capture the beauty of people and their lives... and the stories they have to share. Creating something not just for clients to enjoy now but for them to rediscover in 10, 30, 80 years. When hair turns grey, memories get fuzzy, and time is long gone they will always have a moment of their story to look back on. To feel again, for generations to come.

More than just a tagline, 'Simply you, captured' is the very heart of Stories by Genna. It reflects my belief that true beauty lies in authenticity, in the genuine presence of each individual. When you hire me as your photographer, my goal isn't to change how you look or pose you unrealistically. Instead, I aim to capture you and all your beautifully ordinary moments, just as they are. My photography isn't about creating a facade; it's about honoring the individual, celebrating their unique story, and capturing the story that they have to share.

    Smelcer Wedding 2026

    From our very first conversation, Genna made us feel like our wedding day truly mattered to her. She was kind, patient, and incredibly attentive, taking the time to listen to all of our questions and ideas without ever making us feel rushed. One thing we especially loved was the survey she sent us before the wedding to really get to know us, our personalities, and the style we wanted for our photos. It was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel like she genuinely cared about making our photos feel like us. On our wedding day, she was so thorough and intentional about capturing every little detail and all of the moments that meant the most to us. She had such a great eye for the little moments, and we never felt like anything important was being missed. You can tell Genna truly cares about the couples she works with and wants to give them photos they’ll treasure forever. Her work is consistent, professional, and full of heart. We’re so thankful we chose Stories by Genna to document one of the most special days of our lives, and we’ll always be grateful to have these memories to look back on.

Typically, couples book me about 10-13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you will receive your online gallery within 5 weeks of your wedding date!
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you have my full attention and I can get the best wedding pictures possible. I have multiple videographers I could recommend though!
In my 7 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding.
