Hi, my name is Ian! I'm the Head Photographer at Urquhart Weddings and an easy going wedding vendor dedicated to making your wedding day as stress-free as possible. I primarily cover the New Hampshire region but am always happy to travel throughout New England! I strongly believe in building connections with the couples I work with. If we're local to each other, I'm always up for grabbing a coffee and a breakfast sandwich to get to know each other and chat. Bonus points if you love talking about music!

Accepting the responsibility of capturing a wedding day is an honor I hold close. Whether we're discussing photography or recommending other vendors, I'm always happy to help make the planning process as smooth as possible. There’s no guidebook to wedding planning, but one thing I can promise is a seamless experience when you have me as your photographer.

    Best photographer ever!!

    Ian shot our engagement photos and our wedding and we were so happy to have him both days! He made sure everything was clear with a detailed timeline weeks before the wedding which helped calmed some of my anxiety about the wedding day itself. He understood perfectly how to get quality, amazing photos and still allow us to enjoy the majority of our wedding day. Kelsey worked alongside Ian and was also a great photographer! Ian sent us our sneak peek photos so promptly after the wedding which was such a joy to have on our honeymoon. We are so impressed with how the pictures turned out and how professional, calm, and direct Ian and Kelsey were throughout the day, even throughout some tricky weather! We would 100% recommend Ian as a wedding and engagement photographer!

    Ian is the absolute best!

    Amazing Wedding Photography!

    We can't say enough great things about working with Ian for our wedding photography! Ian was super responsive, professional, organized, caring and thoughtful throughout working with him for our engagement and wedding photos! Ian instantly made us feel comfortable and at ease which made for beautiful pictures! He made sure every detail of the day from getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, reception and dancing were captured in the most authentic way! His eye for the little details and moments is incredible too! We also received sneak peeks a day after our wedding and our full gallery within a month which was amazing and so fun to look through so soon after! We will truly cherish them forever. Thank you Ian for being there for us on our special day! You are truly the best!

    Ian is the best!

    This is the second time we have trusted Ian with our special moments are he again outdid himself! We had a wedding reception after we had our ceremony which Ian photographed for us. I will preface and say that I am not a comfortable person in front of a camera and because we did any more portrait shots with our ceremony, I wanted mostly candid photography for this event. I was so impressed, as was all my guests with his work. He captured all the great moments, laughs, and dance steps along the way. He was always there when you. needed him but also you never noticed him in the way which, to me, sets him apart from other photographers as well. I cannot recommend Ian enough for any event in your life.

    Professional, Kind, and Exceptionally Talented

    Before working with Ian, we'd never had professional family photos taken because we always worried that, with a toddler, it would be a gamble that wasn't worth the cost. It didn't take long for us to realize we'd made the right decision with Ian. From our first interaction, Ian's communication was clear, prompt, and professional, and he was incredibly kind, approachable, and easy to work with. During the session, he made us feel completely at ease. He gave just the right amount of direction with posing while also paying attention to the little moments in between. Some of our absolute favorite images ended up being candid shots he captured in an instant while our daughter was simply playing and being herself. We were also amazed by how quickly he delivered a sneak peek, and our full edited gallery arrived much sooner than we expected. It's clear he puts a tremendous amount of care into selecting and editing each image, creating a gallery that feels polished without looking overdone or unnatural. These photos were a truly worthwhile investment, and we can't imagine trusting anyone but Ian to document our family's milestones as we continue to grow.

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame. I also accept bookings as early as 3 months before their wedding day.
Yes! Depending on the package a couple chooses, a second photographer is included.

I do! Urquhart Weddings can provide wedding photography and videography services.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 8 weeks after your wedding. Sneak peeks can be expected with 4-6 days from the wedding date, though!
You can expect about 60 per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
