We absolutely loved working with About Joy — Jackie as our logistics coordinator and Cookie, her sister, as our designer. Together they made our wedding feel uniquely ours while taking an enormous amount of stress off our shoulders. We booked our venue at Wedgewood, but I wanted something more personal than a cookie-cutter wedding, and quickly got overwhelmed by all the decisions. Neither my husband nor I are especially artistic, and neither of our families had event-planning experience — hiring About Joy was one of the best decisions we made. We'd initially assumed our venue package would cover coordinating, but About Joy was far more responsive, especially as the wedding got closer. In hindsight, I wish we'd brought them on before choosing our venue; their experience and foresight would have smoothed the whole process. Cookie was wonderful at taking my vague ideas and turning them into something cohesive — she met with me multiple times until I was genuinely happy with our color board and invitations, and never made me feel like I was asking too much. What really stood out was the thoughtfulness. They noticed my brother — who was both Man of Honor and Flower Man — would need something to carry petals, and found him a white leather fanny pack he loved. They also suggested my husband and I take a short private moment with hors d'oeuvres right after the ceremony, which I'd never heard of but ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day. And when I wanted something more interesting than a photo booth, they recommended a cartoonist instead of the watercolor artists I was considering — our guests loved it, and we got a keepsake collection of all the drawings afterward. They ran with our own oddball ideas too, like a multi-flavored Kit Kat dessert bar. Our package (8,500, Wedding Management Design) was invaluable — it let us actually enjoy our 90–100-guest wedding instead of spending the weekend managing vendors and timelines. If you're considering About Joy, I cannot recommend them enough.

Thank you, Jackie and Cookie for making our wedding the best day ever. For Answering all our questions, for calming our nerves, for picking up the phone and talking me down. Our day was perfect, happy and enjoyable. I felt like a guest at my own wedding. We highly recommend Jackie and Cookie to help you plan and execute the most joyful of weddings.

About Joy Events is a DJ's dream planner!
Working with Jackie, Cookie and the About Joy Events team as a DJ allows me to focus in on MC'ing and rocking a dance floor. They have a high standard and vision set from the beginning, so you know as a vendor the couple prepped and ready when they reach out. About Joy Events are attentive, easy to work with and professional to say the least. They are great with communication and put together a rock solid timeline. I love working with them!

Kind, Supportive and Awesome
Hiring About Joy Events was, hands down, the best decision that I could have made for my wedding (other than the groom, of course). Working with Jackie was absolutely fantastic! Not only was she a professional in every sense of the word, she was also wonderfully fun and energetic. Jackie often said that she hoped to "spread joy" through her work: the joyfulness and love that Jackie brought with her transformed the entire planning process. Before I hired Jackie, I was behind schedule, stressed out, and overwhelmed. Jackie completely changed the game. She not only got things organized, she also worked directly with the vendors, was unbelievably flexible and generous in her time, and was so incredibly helpful in everything from brainstorming ideas (Jackie is INCREDIBLY creative and has so many beautiful ideas!) to addressing any problems that came up during the planning and during the event itself. She turned stress into excitement, and worry into joy every step of the way. Every time I got off the phone with Jackie, I felt inspired and optimistic. The team that she brought with her on the actual day of the wedding was wonderful: Cookie and Katie were kind, supportive, and all-around awesome. Jackie, I cannot thank you enough for everything that you did for me. I am so grateful to About Joy Events for making my wedding happen.

Jackie Cookie are the best!
Jackie made my dream wedding possible. We first started working together before the pandemic, and from the beginning she was an amazing advisor that helped me deal with the difficult decisions a bride-to-be has to make. I was very impressed by her proactiveness, professionalism, and wealth of knowledge about how to make the day special. She checked in with us regularly over the 2 year delay and helped us manage the challenging process of rescheduling multiple times. As we got closer to our wedding day, Jackie made sure we had every detailed lined up, including things my husband and I didn't even consider. She helped take care of signage, shipping, confirming with vendors, table/space set-up, and more. On the day of our wedding, she directed vendors, guided guests, and dealt with unforeseen emergencies. Our wedding could not have gone smoother and it was in a large part because of Jackie! We are incredibly thankful and can't recommend her enough!
