I started my career in the corporate world, taking on various roles in marketing, event planning, project management and business operations. Creating MHE is my way of combining all those experiences into one job that I’m truly passionate about. I love every part of the planning process, from the tiniest details to the biggest moments. My goal is to bring your vision to life and create unforgettable memories that reflect your unique love story.

For couples who want an experienced planner from day one. I’ll guide you through every step—from defining your vision and building your budget to assembling your vendor team. We’ll create a cohesive, personalized celebration, finalize the details, and keep everything on track so your day feels seamless and truly yours.

For couples who’ve started planning but want support. You choose 3 vendors to focus on—I’ll guide selections, offer recommendations, attend meetings, and manage communication. For the rest, I’ll step in about 6 weeks out to tie up loose ends and finalize logistics, giving you confidence while keeping flexibility.

For the couple who’s handled the planning but wants a professional to bring it all together. I step in about 3 months out to help finalize logistics, confirm details with your vendor team, and build a clear, cohesive timeline for the day. From managing communication to running the show, I’m here to make sure everything stays on track—so you can enjoy your day without a worry.

    Wedding Planning

    Working with Meagan Hilss Events was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From our first conversation, Meagan was direct and easy to talk to, which made the whole planning process feel less stressful. She was incredibly supportive throughout and worked behind the scenes with our vendors to score us some amazing upgrades at no extra cost. Her attention to detail was obvious in every part of our day, and everything came together exactly as we hoped. The value we got for what we paid was honestly perfect. We can't thank Meagan enough for making our wedding day special.

    Best Wedding Ever Thanks to Meagan!!

    Hiring Meagan was genuinely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We worked with her for over a year, and by the time our wedding weekend arrived, she felt so much more like a friend who happened to know absolutely everything about our wedding than simply our planner. From the beginning, Meagan gave us structure without ever making the planning process feel rigid or overwhelming. She created our planning checklist, kept us on track with what needed to be done and when, helped us navigate our budget, reviewed our venue contract, and was always there when we had a question or needed an opinion. She helped us take all of the ideas floating around in our heads and actually turn them into a cohesive wedding. She was especially incredible with design. Meagan helped us refine our overall vision, colors, florals, linens, rentals, table settings, floor plans, draping, bars, ceremony setup, reception layout and all of the tiny details in between. She coordinated our venue walkthrough and full mock-up with our florist and rental vendors so we could actually see everything come together before the wedding. She also helped us find vendors that fit both our style and budget—including our florist—and coordinated meetings, proposals and logistics throughout the process. But where Meagan truly went above and beyond was advocating for us. There were so many little logistical challenges toward the end of planning that we would have had no idea how to navigate ourselves. She went back and forth with our venue about everything from chairs, bars and linens to AV, draping, vendor parking, load-in times and service details. At one point, when having the same crossback chairs throughout the day became unexpectedly complicated, she went to bat for us and worked with the venue to find a solution. There were countless moments like that where she cared about the details because she knew that *we* cared about them. She also coordinated every vendor leading up to the wedding, created an incredibly detailed execution plan with timelines, diagrams, contact information and setup instructions, reviewed our BEO line by line, managed final guest and meal information, coordinated vendor arrivals and setup, and made sure everyone knew exactly where they needed to be and when. She even helped coordinate a surprise magician for Jordan during cocktail hour and somehow kept the whole thing under wraps! And then there was the actual wedding day. I cannot overstate how valuable it was to be able to completely let go. I am normally someone who wants to know what is happening at all times, and somehow on our wedding day I genuinely did not worry about a thing. I knew Meagan had it. She and her team made sure that more than a year of planning actually came to life exactly the way we imagined it, while Jordan and I got to be present with each other, our families and our friends. By the end, I was genuinely sad that our planning emails and meetings were over—which probably says everything. We would hire Meagan again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you are looking for someone who will care about your wedding like it is her own, advocate for you, obsess over the details and then make sure you actually get to enjoy the day you spent so long planning, hire Meagan. Five stars does not feel like enough!!

    Okay, I am not crying, you are crying. (I'm crying.) Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out. Over a year of planning together means I've been in your inbox more than some of my own friends, and honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way. You two came to me with so many ideas, and getting to help turn them into a day that felt completely like you was the best part. The mock-up day was a huge highlight for me. Seeing the florals, linens, and tables all come together before the big day and watching you both light up made every spreadsheet worth it. And the crossback chairs. I will never forget the crossback chairs! Who knew chairs could become a whole storyline? You cared about that detail, so I cared about it too, and I'm so glad it worked out. Keeping a magician hidden from Jordan all through cocktail hour was also one of my favorite secret missions of the year. What means the most to our whole team is hearing that you got to let go on the day. That's the whole point of all the timelines, diagrams, and BEO line items. You worked so hard to plan this wedding, and you deserved to actually be in it with Jordan, your families, and your friends. We loved every minute of bringing it to life for you. I miss our planning emails, meetings, and texts too!! Thank you for trusting me with something this meaningful. I'm cheering you both on always!!! With love, Meagan

    Meagan and her team are a NECESSITY

    She was essential to making our wedding the most beautiful and seamless day. Just from a few initial conversations and our hectic pinterest board of ideas, she understood and became aligned with our vision. Seeing it come to life brought me to tears as soon as I arrived at the venue. Every piece of her guidance had a point and purpose and brought up decisions we would have never thought we would need to make while planning a wedding.     Best Wedding Planner

    Hiring Meagan was our best and favorite decision we made! From the first call to the day of, she made the whole wedding planning process an ease. I honestly don’t think we would have survived without her. Meagan is extremely organized, professional, thoughtful and her attention to detail is like no other. We had envisioned having two long tables on the lawn at Scripps Seaside Forum and wow did she execute our vision (our guests still talk about it). With 180 guests, everything felt incredibly seamless the day of, and we received countless compliments from guests and family members on how beautifully she executed our day. We truly were able to be present with one another and stay so calm the day of the wedding and it was all because of her. We are so grateful for her!
